Pitch has plenty of space, shade and sunny patches

Astroturf all around the pool area so you can't slip, genius !

I asked for my well done and it was amazing 😋

Very quite rustic … out of season so not many people there.…

Liked: Very quite rustic … out of season so not many people there. But I imagine would be a good vibe … short walk into the local town . Bakers .. spar and 1 restaurant as far as we could see … nice relaxing stay

Liked: Nada en especial. Quizás los croassants que puedes encargar para recoger a primera hora, pero tampoco son una maravilla. Es un camping tranquilo.

Disliked: El camping está dejado. Es imposible ducharse. Solo hay tres duchas disponibles y la presión del agua y la falta de alcachofa de ducha hacen imposible tomar una ducha sin que te duela la espalda. Las parcelas tienen hoyos y poca vegetación. La piscina es minúscula, solo para niños.

From the manager: Many thanks for your review. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy your overnight stay. We have put a lot of care attention and money into renovating the campsite over the last 8 years so it is certainly not neglected.
We have 5 high pressure showers with very large rainheads and unlimited hot water. We are often told that they are the best showers people have come across when camping in France.
The swimming pool is 14m x 7m whch is usually fine for our small site.
Finally the pitches are grassy and each pitch is edged by hedges and trees.
Are you sure you reviewed the right campsite???

Liked: Fantastic site which does all the detail well. Stayed twice as long as we planned to!
Outstanding in the provision for older kids.
Owners relaxed but attentive.
Best campsite showers ever, clean toilets, food and drink offerings perfect. Swimming pool is great .
Loved how the sports and games are nearly all free, and balls and equipment provided.
It’s extremely good value for money and lots of extras are included free (Wi-Fi, water cooler, etc)
Huge tent pitch with lots of shade.
Sociable bar area but site was quiet after 11ish.

Disliked: We struggled a little with finding things to do in the area .
Also the road noise was annoying when the site is so peaceful.

Liked: Warm and friendly welcome from the lovely owners. Nice little bar on site, clean showers and toilets on a quiet and well maintained site.
Huge pitches with electric hook up.
Would certainly recommend and go back if in the area.

Liked: First of all, let me say that those fries were the finest I’ve ever eaten.
The pitch was lovely, green and shady. Site was peaceful and right amongst woodland with great amenities and lots to do for kids. Pool was also nice.

Liked: Rural site in middle of France run by very friendly English couple. Accommodation all no frills but spotlessly clean and did the job perfectly

Disliked: Night life was very noisy for young children trying to sleep

Liked: The site is lovely and green. The pitch was perfect, the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. The facilities are brilliant. We will definitely be coming back within the next few holidays.
Pizzas made by the daughter were so tasty too!

Local attractions

Wine and cognac, old old towns, and theme parks featuring the past and the future are what you might like to dive into first around Camping du Bois de St Hilaire, along with the many local marked paths for walking and biking. A couple of other early stops should be the Poitou-Charentes capital of Poitiers for its medieval centre and nights in its many student-friendly pubs; and the old fortified town of Parthenay, also with a medieval centre as well as ancient town walls, a 13th-century gateway and medieval timber-framed houses. The old port city of La Rochelle is an hour and a half away on the west coast. The theme park of Puy du Fou will let littlies feel they're in the past at its medieval town, Viking fortress and replica amphitheatre; to feel what the future might be like, take them to Futuroscope, about 30 kilometres from base.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Extras

Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet hours must be respected between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m..
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.

Hired accommodation

Hired accommodation: €250.00 (£217.38) damage/cleanliness/bracelet deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure after inspection of your unit should no damage/losses be found.
Your unit must be left clean and tidy; a fine of €50.00 (£43.48) will be charged for unclean units upon departure.

Pool

Only park guests are authorised to use the pool.
Please note there is no lifeguard on duty.
The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/06 and 21/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Reception

Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. between 08/04 and 30/09.

Safety

Firearms are not permitted.
No charcoal barbecues allowed.
Open fires are prohibited.

Vehicles

No vehicle movement between 11 p.m. and 7:30 a.m..
The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.
