The team at family-run Camping du Bois de St Hilaire in the Vienne department of Chalandray reckon they can manage that for you as the site is in the calm seven-hectare forest of Saint Hilaire, in a peaceful part of the Poitou-Charentes province close to the medieval towns of Parthenay and Poitiers. This small and friendly site is just the ticket for families and dog owners, with plenty of scenic walks straight from the gates. A pool, play area, tennis courts, pétanque, a games room and miniature golf are all on site; a bar is open daily and wood-fired pizzas are served twice weekly. The modern amenities at Camping du Bois de St Hilaire are centrally located and include thermostatically controlled showers, washrooms and toilets, all maintained to high standards.

Liked Really big pitches and only a short stroll from the local town. It was 40 degree heat when we were there and the local restaurant pub was closed on the day we were there but we bought some provisions from the SPAR in town and it had AC to cool us down for the walk back. Pool looked nice and loved the baby goats and two little pigs. Gorgeous.

Disliked Washrooms were great but if the site was dull which it wasn't when we were there then might get very busy.

Liked Nice wooded site.
Good sized pitches with trees for shade
Chester enjoyed the off lead dog walk. Not long but 2 circuits kept him happy as did saying hello the the pet pigs at the end of the walk.
Facilities clean and hot water plentiful

Liked Lovely location in the woods. Well situated for visiting Poitiers and Parthenay. Boulangerie and small supermarket about 15 minutes walk from the site. Very peaceful. Friendly owners.
