The team at family-run Camping du Bois de St Hilaire in the Vienne department of Chalandray reckon they can manage that for you as the site is in the calm seven-hectare forest of Saint Hilaire, in a peaceful part of the Poitou-Charentes province close to the medieval towns of Parthenay and Poitiers. This small and friendly site is just the ticket for families and dog owners, with plenty of scenic walks straight from the gates. A pool, play area, tennis courts, pétanque, a games room and miniature golf are all on site; a bar is open daily and wood-fired pizzas are served twice weekly. The modern amenities at Camping du Bois de St Hilaire are centrally located and include thermostatically controlled showers, washrooms and toilets, all maintained to high standards.

Liked Lovely big pitches. Level pitches, amazing facilities. Loved having toilet seats and toilet roll. Quiet site with all you can need, only stayed for one night but loved our stay. Will be back if in the area

Liked Best toilets and showers in any campsite we’ve stayed in! Clean, well set out and made showering a young child much easier!
Staff went above and beyond to help us.
Pitches were of a great shape and size with ample shade during the hottest parts of the day.
The pool was perfect and we especially loved the amount of toys and equipment available for the kids to borrow!
Pizza night was also a welcome surprise after a long drive :)
The adjustments made for the prevention of forest fires were done well, actually helped us socialise a little more in what was a very friendly atmosphere!

Liked Easy to find. Proximity to Futuroscope was a bonus.
Very friendly family run campsite.
Pool was lovely and had a shallower end as well as the deep end (and open to a really decent time) and the bar area/hatch and chips of an evening were amazing.
Daughter loved the play park area as well.
There were pigs and goats and chickens to see which was a lovely surprise.
We didnt make it on the woodland walk but did utilise the petanque.
Due to wild fires there was no cooking tentside and only in a designated spot. This didnt cause too many issues as it was well sign posted, not far from our pitch and we were only staying a couple nights.
Facilities were clean and always well stocked of toilet paper/soap.
Pitch was a really good size and nice and flat.

Liked Large spread out campsite with plenty of shade. Lots of different types of accommodation. Nice surprise was the walk through the woods.

Easy walk into Chalandray where there was a great SPAR shop selling all manner of goods (surprisingly no meat though).

Also had a good lunch at the modest little auberge.

Disliked Nothing really.

Liked This came site is set in tranquil woodland and is beautiful and natural. The owners are a lovely English family who are very friendly and helpful. They provide wood fired pizzas to buy on certain nights which are well worth trying as they are absolutely delicious with a good choice of different toppings. There is also a well stocked bar and a swimming pool.
The pitches are well spaced and very large and private - we loved this site for all of the reasons stated above and also for the wonderful friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
