Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Easy access to the lovely town of Albert and the war memorials close by. Site has rustic charm, water on the pitches, grey waste emptying and laundry all were fine.

Disliked Overgrown in areas, we couldnt get our MoHo onto the top area as the tree branches were too low, so we had to stay in the bottom area near the showers. the Site really needs some gardening TLC.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Nice layout and allowed to choose your own pitch. Pitches were spacious with plenty of water and EHU points. Friendly lady on the site who was doing both the reception and cleaning. Proximity to the town centre.

Disliked A lot of low hanging branches which made accessing the pitches/moving around the site, our roof was scraped multiple times, everything needed cutting back. As a 2* site you expect the facilities to be basic, but clean and functional. Some facilities were out of action and were not especially clean, maybe one person having to do everything was too much?

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Quiet campsite, friendly staff, bigger than average pitches. Really close to Somme battlefield sites. 15min walk to town centre which had good restaurants.

Disliked The toilet/shower block was a little run down as was the electric and water facilities on the pitches. But the temperature on the shower was good. Entrance gate could do with some maintenance (the collapsed one)

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Plots. Reasonable size

Disliked Toilet facilities need updating- they are reasonably clean but old fashioned and basic. The tap on the basin in the toilet area didn’t work. At least two of the toilet seats were broken
The office wasn’t open- it would have helped if there had been a notice on it about where the lady could be found

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked Nice location, good services. Even for only one night, our staying there was so peaceful and quiet.
Easy to access it, located into a pitoresque area, we would have liked to have stayed longer.
Also, they have many means for entertainment (like table tennis, pool table)

Disliked The smell the second day was horrific. Of course, is not the site's fault, but literarelly, you really needed to run out of there.

Local attractions

Set the scene for a tour of the Somme battlefields with a visit to the Musée Somme 1916 (10 minutes’ walk) in Albert, with informative subterranean displays of weapons and military uniforms as well as recreations of the wartime trenches. From there, you are within easy reach of the Thiepval Memorial (10 minutes’ drive), Pozières Memorial and Cemetery (five minutes) and the carefully tended ranks of graves in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery (15 minutes). Historic Arras (40 minutes) has plenty of WWI memorials too, evident when you visit the Carrière Wellington, a network of tunnels dug from medieval chalk quarries by the Allies. Going further back in time, it’s also worth stopping by the sprawling, star-shaped Citadelle d’Arras, built by military architect Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban in 1672. If you’re travelling with kids, head for lively Amiens (35 minutes) to see big cats and red pandas at the Zoo d’Amiens Métropole, visit the Jules Verne House – former home of the madcap sci-fi writer – and climb to the top of the landmark Beffroi d’Amiens for views over city rooftops.
