Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Friendly staff.
Select your pitch on arrival, plenty of shade of you want it.
All services are clean and well stocked, even with toilet paper for those who always forget to pack theirs.
Showers hot.
Communial area with food and drink, games and plenty of seating.
My second time here and site is consistent with it's delivery.
Short walk into the village.
Good mobile connection.
Didn't try WiFi so can't comment.

Disliked Nothing to complain about with this one, otherwise I wouldn't have visited twice.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked We liked the location of the camp site in the Somme, we liked the trees and hedges bordering the pitches, and the facilities on the pitch (electricity and water). There was a nice ambiance and it was a calm campsite when we arrived.
Emily was very helpful in the booking process.

Disliked What we found inconvenient was the noise at night from the trains on the railway line and vehicles on the main road not far from where we were pitched on the campsite. It disturbed our sleep.
If pitched further from the road/rail we probably would have slept better.
The campsite is convenient location for our tour.

Toilet and shower facilities good

Disliked No signage to indicate what rubbish went where and no obvious signage for recycling.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Well set out pitch with trees and hedges for privacy. Close to the centre, about 10 minutes walk. They sell beer and refreshments on site but hours are restricted

Disliked It seems to be a theme in France, the toilets are appalling. Not just here but most campsites looks like they have been vandalised, toilet seats broken and dirty. This site had one toilet roll dispenser

What customers say

This campsite offers a great location, within easy walking distance of Albert and the Somme battlefields. Pitches are generally spacious, private, and well-maintained with trees for shade and water/electricity. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful, with many returning visitors. While many facilities are clean and functional, some guests noted them as dated or in need of refurbishment. Noise from nearby roads and trains was occasionally mentioned.

Local attractions

Set the scene for a tour of the Somme battlefields with a visit to the Musée Somme 1916 (10 minutes’ walk) in Albert, with informative subterranean displays of weapons and military uniforms as well as recreations of the wartime trenches. From there, you are within easy reach of the Thiepval Memorial (10 minutes’ drive), Pozières Memorial and Cemetery (five minutes) and the carefully tended ranks of graves in Caterpillar Valley Cemetery (15 minutes). Historic Arras (40 minutes) has plenty of WWI memorials too, evident when you visit the Carrière Wellington, a network of tunnels dug from medieval chalk quarries by the Allies. Going further back in time, it’s also worth stopping by the sprawling, star-shaped Citadelle d’Arras, built by military architect Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban in 1672. If you’re travelling with kids, head for lively Amiens (35 minutes) to see big cats and red pandas at the Zoo d’Amiens Métropole, visit the Jules Verne House – former home of the madcap sci-fi writer – and climb to the top of the landmark Beffroi d’Amiens for views over city rooftops.
