Excellent site, decent location, large pitches, good privacy, friendly 11/08/2018

Friendly staff, who speak some English.
Decent sized pitches, which have a good amount of privacy (large hedges).
The kids absolutely loved the pools, both the outdoor and indoor.
Decently located for St Gilles Croix De Vie Grande Plage beach, which has some nice cafes to eat in (Due South (Plein Sud) has amazing Moules et Frites), and a nice soft sand beach.
Also the town centre of St Gilles Croix De Vie is really nice and quaint, with a nice bridge and harbour area.
St Jean de Monts is close by for a more "traditional seaside promenade" style beach visit, with a big wheel on Rue Panoramique, small arcades etc.
Also has a Super U close by for food and things - a 5 minute drive away, as well as a petrol station with "pay at pump".
And for those people who don't like eating local food, theres also a McDonalds. lol.

    Disliked:

Not the really the campsites fault, but we had some noisy teenagers in a pitch near us who kept shouting and laughing till past midnight.
Also not the campsites fault, but don't forget that in France that they force men to wear the UK's most hated item of clothing (officially according to BBC News) - the small swimming trunks "Maillot De Bain"... Luckily they sell them pretty cheaply on site if you forget to buy a pair before you arrive, and they actually dont look too bad.
BRING YOUR OWN TOILET ROLL AND SOAP. There are none onsite at all. I would have thought this would be mandatory for hygiene reasons.

Lovely site with large pitches and great pools and activities for the children. Local beaches are beautiful. The only thing we wish is that it was closer to the beach and town so we could walk or catch a bus rather than take the motorhome.

Nice friendly owner and staff, who offered me a choice of pitches. Ground was completely water logged with free standing water everywhere. Van got stuck on pitch as I was reversing into a makeshift space for awning. Spent 30 mins attempting to get van out and after jacking it up, with the help of the owner’s vehicle, managed to drag my van out. Not an ideal start to the holiday, covered in liquid mud! Unfortunately weather was not on our side and whilst I was aware it was ‘out of season’ and the outside pool was unavailable, I was not aware that all of the amenities, (restaurant, washing and drying facilities) were also shut. (This might well be my understanding but it wasn’t clear from booking). There was only one toilet for the entire site due to on going, unfinished work on the remaining toilets. It wasn’t a major factor as site was mostly empty. Nothing in walking distance but a short drive away there was a large supermarket etc and places to eat. Bizarrely swimming shorts were banned from the indoor pool, with only ‘speedo’ type trunks allowed. I can’t for the life of me understand why, however the owner allowed us to wear swimming trunks but worth being aware. Facilities were clean and well maintained. WiFi coverage hit and miss and every couple of mins I keep having to log in.

    Disliked:

    Weather!!
Rather unpleasant smell around the toilet and shower block.

From the manager...

Dear Tom

We are very sorry for the very wet weather you had during your stay, which is not a normal weather at this time of the year.
The remodling work in the toilets and laundry is finished now and the unpleasant smell you could have had is gone because all of the pipes are now full of water.
We use to open the indoor pool end of March and the outdoor pool in May when the nights are cooler and days more hot.
Regarding swmming shorts, I know English people are not familiar with this regulation our sanitary services request us to respect in order to improve ther water quality.
We wish you pleasant Holiday in France for your next stay. Best regards Eric and Laëtitia
