There’s also a play area with netted trampoline, ping pong tables and big bouncy castle for kids, and regular activities such as pétanque tournaments and disco and karaoke nights for adults and teens. Food and free wifi are sorted at the snack bar.

Camping du Poulquer is also equipped with toilet blocks suitable for disabled guests, free hot showers, a launderette and a washing-up corner.

Bars, restaurants, shops, a spa and a casino are a short stroll away.

We have stayed here before and enjoy Benodet in general.
Good cycling in the area. Good restaurants.
Camp itself was reasonably well looked after, see dislikes.
WiFi far too limited being only by the bar, there are numerous good examples of larger and smaller sites proving nearly site wide good Wi-Fi.

    Disliked:

Dog owners letting their dogs roam and not even aware of the mess they have left.
The site owners should take a more severe stand on this.

We liked our pitch in the 3rd row behind the pool area, which was quiet and spacious and gave good privacy as the pitches are divided by hedges. Our pitch was one of the larger ones and really suitable for our 8-person tent, loo tent, large car plus a sitting area that fitted our lounger chairs and table comfortably. Other pitches aren't so spacious, and we saw other campers struggling to fit their tent on it and had to park their cars in the parking bays at the end of the lanes. We liked the facilities on the campsite, including pool area, playground with trampoline and 2 bouncy castles, and the small shop with basic supplies where we bought our fresh baguettes amd milk every morning. The staff were all from one family and very friendly. We enjoyed the burgers from the burger van that came to the campsite on Wednesdays (we tried the crepes once but didn't like the waiting time.....) We loved the location of the campsite, which is in walking distance from Benodet seaside front and beaches. We were there in the main summer holiday season but the resort never felt overrun with tourists, which is probably due to the few restaurants and bars that can be found there. We did lots of excursions by car and explored the whole of Southern Finistere from our location, all of which are in easy reach by car due to the fantastic road network in Bretagne. We absolutely loved the fresh seafood on offer in the local supermarkets and finishing villages across the region. Among our many highlights were a fishing trip at sea, a boats tour to the Isles de Glenan, Ocenapolis in Brest, Audierne beach, and much more---the variety of things to do in Bretagne is fantastic!

Didn't appreciate the little cockaroaches on the site.

This was our first year camping abroad and so were unsure of what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely the site was with all facilities really well kept. Toilets/showers/pool were cleaned on daily basis.
You could order your bread/pastries the night before and collect in the morning.
the site was very quiet in the mornings and evenings which was lovely and made the whole trip very relaxing.

The pool was a perfect size for us as we have a 5 year old and were able to see him at all times.

There is a promenade and restaurants 5 min walk as well as a small beach which is lovely for an evening stroll and ice-cream. We ventured a bit further to a larger beach called Le Treustel Plage which was beautiful and only 10 mins drive.

    Would highly recommend this site.

    Disliked:

Not sure about the wifi as we had unlimited access due to our own 4G phones so didn't cause any issues at all.

The pitches and the size of them are fantastic. Bouncy castles, park and trampoline for the kids through the day. Hot showers and heated swimming pools ( apart from one). All public areas were kept clean and very family friendly!

    Disliked:

Expensive village, 10-11euros for two pints of lager. No entertainment for the kids at night time. Park closes when its dark so nothing for the kids to do. Never toilet roll in the toilets ( Take your own) Not within walking distance to a shop for groceries, need to drive.

Local attractions

Spas and sands are the main order of leisurely business around seasidey Benodet: the town's known as a thalassotherapy centre and four golden sandy beaches are within a kilometre of Camping du Poulquer. As well as the beaches here, get along to Plage des Dames and the Plage des Sables Blancs for serene sunbathing, or take a ferry to the nearby Glénan Islands.

Among the many other Finistère and Brittany options easily reached from Benodet is Concarneau, the third biggest fishing port in France which has an Old Town on a rocky island just off the coast, a fishing museum and a fine indoor market selling fish (mais oui), fruit, veg and other local produce.

Another must is Quimper, the old Brittany town where you'll still see women in traditional Breton dress (and head coverings), among the cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings. You could also take a look at the port town of Pont-l'Abbé, with the remains of its 14th-century castle as well as the Bigouden Museum also showcasing traditional dress and headpieces, or the village of Locranon.

For outdoorsy antics, hike along the 12-kilometre circular trail through the forest of Bois de Névet, looking out for deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards along the way.
