Gostou The location is beautiful, nice pitches with good deal of privacy hedging. Apple trees offer some shade in extreme heat. Very relaxed feel. Felt happy here providing we were self sufficient and didnt need any help with anything. Stefan who check our electric was very polite and helpful.

Não gostou Emailed them prior to arrival to check a couple things - no response. Our arrival was disappointing. Pitchup said 12pm arrival, its actually its 2pm. We arrived with Reception closed, went to bar to check and have a drink. Wasn't made to feel very welcome by the owner, felt intimidating until my husband joined me then we ordered a drink and chatted to one of the regulars. Eventual check in with the barman (manager?) was basic, no information given. Shown to pitch by lad, which was helpful.
Remember to take loo rolls and soap. Shop needs advanced booking, managed to pursuade the lady to sell us a baguette - cash only.
Electric tripped which wrecked our leisure battery. Cost us £250 when we got home.
Apples falling onto van could cause damage, seems odd thing to have on pitch.
Pool was too busy for us.

Não gostou The campsite owner is an alcoholic. He was drunk on our arrival. He wet himself and then after pointing to some empty pitches he went off to run the evening bar.
We stopped in the bar to get a cold drink and he was that drunk that he couldn’t even get bar orders correct and people had to go behind the bar to get the items from the fridge and put them in front of him.

We were not given any information about the campsite. It states that there is a shop (only open early morning and then for 2 hours at 6pm)
It claims to have a restaurant that provides take-away. This is not the case. There is a snack bar which is open in the afternoon only. They have food trucks which we found out that you have to pre-order. When we asked the owner how to order, he said that he would send me an email. He never did.
My friend in the neighbouring pitch found the campsite owner snooping around my campervan, he unplugged my electric hook-up and threw it across my pitch.

There was an empty socket which I plugged my van into for an hour to see if it would charge the leisure battery (it did not as my fuse had blown prior to arrival) I had an external hookup so I used that instead.
The owner shouted with his alcohol breath in her face and kept waving his finger at her, then he told her she was not nice because we had 2 plugs. (We had paid for 2 pitches) the hookup boxes were set up very strangely.
The female showers had a slanted roof with velux windows.
I was shocked to see that the blinds were not shut and whilst I was in the shower, I noticed that I could see my reflection and also the ones either side of me.
The blinds are not open in the men’s showers, only the women’s.

On a few occasions there were men and women sharing showers in the female cubicles, they had loud music playing on a speaker to cover various noises.
When we asked the campsite owner to tell them to get out and turn the music down, his response was “its ok, you can just dance to the music” it was a family campsite and to me this was unacceptable.
The swimming pool is not manned, which is fine as your children are your responsibility but the pools are so overcrowded that it’s not safe.
Unsupervised teenagers over-ran the pool and were very rowdy.
It also states that there is WiFi on the campsite. There is no WiFi.
The campsite owner appeared to dislike English people. He was very friendly with all of the French people, I witnessed him being rude to another English lady who was asking him for some tourist information. He told her to use her brain and go to the office in the town.

Gostou Great little site in Benodet. We had a great 5 night stay.

L'accueil limite.
On aurait souhaité des soirées avec restauration et soirées dansantes.

Gostou Close to beach and town, good sized pitches with hedging making it feel private. Clean, nice sized swimming pools and some flumes on site.

Facilities cleaned regularly. Food trucks visit certain evenings were a nice touch.

Newer toilet block was nice with good sized showers, good washing up area, baby bath room with change table (helpful as we had a 3 month old at the time of visiting).

One review I read before going said they didn’t find the second toilet block until being there a couple of days….but they are right opposite each other. They clean one block at a time meaning facilities are always available.

Fencing around the playground was secure. I was not worried about it being ‘near the road’ I felt my kids were totally safe there. The equipment was quite new, 2 large trampolines and a bouncy castle.

Was noisy in the evening until 10-11pm.

Older toilet block is dated and you can not change the temperature of the showers which were boiling hot.

Greating on arrival was not bad but could have been a little more customer focused. Maybe provide a map or a welcome info sheet with shop and pool times, any site rules etc, a simple touch but after our 7 hour journey (which should have been 3) with 3 kids a little information would have been helpful.
