There’s also a play area with netted trampoline, ping pong tables and big bouncy castle for kids, and regular activities such as pétanque tournaments and disco and karaoke nights for adults and teens. Food and free wifi are sorted at the snack bar.

Camping du Poulquer is also equipped with toilet blocks suitable for disabled guests, free hot showers, a launderette and a washing-up corner.

Bars, restaurants, shops, a spa and a casino are a short stroll away.

Family friendly site 09/03/2018

Quiet family friendly site. Beautiful area.
We stayed in a mobile home for a week and were not disappointed, a high standard for a simple home and well equipped. We had a friendly welcome and were shown to the van, a 300 euro deposit was taken and will be refunded assuming no damages on departure. We had a beautiful view of the bay from our decking, van S21. Building work going on at a house behind our van but had no impact on our stay.
The site is fairly simple with just the pools and the park to entertain the children, but this was more than adequate for our 8 year old who loved the slides in the pool which kept her busy most days and a lovely covered pool for the cooler times and and a heated outdoor pool was a bonus. All areas to the pools were clean and well maintained.
A small on site shop which has very limited stock but we did use a few times for daily bread etc which was lovely and fresh.
Benodet is beautiful a short walk to beeches and the local restaurants from the site and a supermarket with petrol station not far. We would recommend this site for people who are looking for a chilled out break lovely and quiet at the time we visited. We would return to the area.

    Disliked:

We only went to the bar once and found it a little pricey, we attempted the snack bar once ordered some food the lady muttered something and walked away and didn't come back just busied herself in the kitchen, so we walked away and went to the shop/snack bar at the opposite campsite who were friendly and helpful.

How clean the site was and how child friendly it was. I loved the fact there was an indoor and outdoor pool both kept very well.

The pitches were clean and tidy when we arrived and the staff checking us in were great. We arrived early and were allowed on our pitch.

The location is very close to benodet and the beaches and also close enough to places like quimper which has a lovely old town to visit and some lovely shops and cafes. Entertainment locally very good and we enjoyed the food in the beach cafe! Well priced!!
The swimming pools on the site provided great entertainment for all and having an indoor outdoor choice was good.

    Disliked:

The pitch was on a slant and the pitch was small for France. The pitches including hedges needed a trim! We had no information about what was on or what was available on the site in the local area. In the final week we discovered a lovely shop on the site. There needs to be some information about entertainment locally as there was a concert one night, a choir and then a jazz night. The shower blocs need updating near reception.
The electrical hookups are shared and we frequently had to reset the electrics! We found the site very noisy at night especially if you are in a tent! Mornings start later and are quieter.

The fantastic location and wonderful swimming pools. Couldn't ask for a better location. It's right by the beach and sea front, with a lovely cycle path nearby. The indoor pool has the most amazing steam room, current to swim against and lots for the whole family.

    Disliked:

It's a very noisy site. Loud music being played nearby. Only had a few nights decent sleep out of 2 weeks. Small, sloping pitches made for bad nights sleep on air beds. Pitches are fine for caravans.

Very family friendly loads for kids to do including table tennis, 3 pools with water slides, sauna, jaquzzi, kids club, bouncy castles, park with trampoline all for free. Shower blocks cleaned regularly and showers lovely and warm, laundry and washing up block also nice and clean. Pool area lovely and clean and tent pitches well maintained. Good location for beach and seafront.

    Disliked:

Camp shop expensive and not very well stocked. Only opened for a few hours on a morning then reopened 6pm to 8pm. Bit disappointing as nearest grocery shop was a 15 min car drive away. Bar and snack bar also expensive.

Local attractions

Spas and sands are the main order of leisurely business around seasidey Benodet: the town's known as a thalassotherapy centre and four golden sandy beaches are within a kilometre of Camping du Poulquer. As well as the beaches here, get along to Plage des Dames and the Plage des Sables Blancs for serene sunbathing, or take a ferry to the nearby Glénan Islands.

Among the many other Finistère and Brittany options easily reached from Benodet is Concarneau, the third biggest fishing port in France which has an Old Town on a rocky island just off the coast, a fishing museum and a fine indoor market selling fish (mais oui), fruit, veg and other local produce.

Another must is Quimper, the old Brittany town where you'll still see women in traditional Breton dress (and head coverings), among the cobbled streets and half-timbered buildings. You could also take a look at the port town of Pont-l'Abbé, with the remains of its 14th-century castle as well as the Bigouden Museum also showcasing traditional dress and headpieces, or Locranon, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.

For outdoorsy antics, hike along the 12-kilometre circular trail through the forest of Bois de Névet, looking out for deer, foxes, badgers and buzzards along the way.
