  • Luxury glampsite among hay meadows on a 15-acre smallholding
  • A 10-minute drive from Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm
  • Within 15 minutes of family-friendly Saundersfoot and Tenby beaches
After an all-weather break in a prime part of west Wales? Peruse the accommodation at Pembrokeshire Barn Farm, a luxury glampsite 15 minutes’ drive from Tenby’s top beaches, for hols come rain or shine. Set in the green countryside and overlooking a scenic landscape, this is a family-friendly spot on a 15-acre smallholding amid hay meadows. The focus at the farm is on having free-range adventures, but organised amusement for both kids and adults is also close by – Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Heatherton World of Activities are all around 10 minutes’ drive. When thoughts turn to kicking back (if the kids allow it…), fire up the barbecue and get some outdoor eats on the go. Once the tiddlers are tucked up in bed, it’s high time for grabbing your deckchair, cracking open a can and letting the fresh air wash over you as you soak up the scenery. The next day, there are yet more memories to be made, whether you’re keener on trying activities like coasteering and rock climbing, fancy checking out a few of Wales’ 600 remaining castles or just want to bring the bucket and spade along to local beaches. Pembrokeshire Barn Farm also allows dogs, so you really can bring the whole family along on your break.

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire is home to the only coastal national park in Britain, so the beaches – all 52 of them – are of course brill in this region. They’ve even got the accolades to prove it, having garnered more Blue Flag awards than any other UK county. Some of the most spectacular stretches of sand are around Tenby and Saundersfoot (both 15 minutes’ drive), seaside resorts with restaurants and coffee shops galore; for wilder beaches, head on forays to Freshwater East (20 minutes) and Barafundle bay (half an hour). Pembrokeshire’s also got some cracking countryside to wander around. Head to the buff Bosherston Lily Ponds (half an hour) for walks amid water or add ambling around an ancient pile to your itinerary with a trip to Pembroke Castle (20 minutes). The Wales-wide coastal path is also within reach if you’d prefer to potter by the ocean. Looking for activities that are a bit more out of the ordinary? Hobnob with the nocturnal birds at the Secret Owl Garden (15 minutes) or dawdle around the Dinosaur Park’s woodland, a leafy location dotted with 30 large models of Jurassic-era beasts (15 minutes).
