Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: The site is very quiet, we were the only people there the first night we stayed, the owner is a very friendly chap but if he offers you some hot salad beware, if you don't like mustard you may find it a bit hot. The facilities are two toilets in separate units, very clean and roomy, and the rest of the toilet and washing facilities are housed in a mobile home which are more than adequate, the only down side may be if the site was busy as there is only one shower.

Disliked: The only dislike for us was the lack of a pub within walking distance that did food, the site is a little remote so you'll need to aware that visiting anywhere will require a drive.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: From the moment we arrived, the site owner really made us feel at home and at ease. The toilets were absolutely amazing, with lights and heating. The vintage caravan decked out with a telly, some games, a fully equipped kitchen and shower was also really handy to have close by. When the fog cleared we were also amazed to see some pretty beautiful views. Great base for adventures in west Wales!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Lovely welcome from owner Richard who is a font of information, even the dog Skai introduced herself to us and visited every morning at breakfast. We loved the peaceful surroundings even though the weather was a bit bleak. Facilities were great, heated toilets, a caravan that housed a full kitchen for our use, fab heated shower room. The pitches are large, well spaced mixture of gravel and grass, well laid out and wonderfully neat and tidy.

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

It’s a bit of a mixed bag around Maengwyn Hir, so there should be something for everyone – a 20-minute drive will give you choices including Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Pembrokeshire Llamas or Cenarth Falls, while in Cardigan (25 minutes) you can choose from boat trips to spot dolphins and seals, a market building full of local producers and Cardigan Castle for a hit of history. For some action, Oakwood Theme Park (half an hour) is full of thrills and spills for adrenaline junkies, while the rides at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (35 minutes) come with a side of zoo talks and animal feeding. You might also make your way to Manor Wildlife Park (40 minutes) for more animal encounters. If you're after something a bit more hands-on, Heatherton World of Activities (40 minutes) has crazy golf, archery, karting, paintballing and treetop trails. Make your way to the coast for seaside sessions at Pendine Sands beach (half an hour) for a splendid seven miles of beach. Or head to Tenby beach (40 minutes) and check out the town's museum and art gallery and Tudor Merchant’s House while you’re there.
