Carn Springs: Not over crowded and the owner went to great lengths to ensure everyone had their own space

General

  • Small wildlife haven site set around a large pond
  • Within walking distance of many attractions including Heatherton
  • Modern toilet and shower block

What a peaceful place… Pembrokeshire's Carn Springs, in a wildlife haven near the coast at Tenby, is set in mature grounds with a central lake making up a natural habitat for many species of birds, waterfowl and other critters: rest relaxedly here around the campfire to see swallows and bats flitting overhead as dusk falls…

This is a site for switching off at, whether you want to lie back and think of nature spotting, read, paint, or visit the many traditional towns and villages nearby. When/if you want to switch on again, Heatherton World of Activities, Manor House Wildlife Park and Tenby Dinosaur Park are all within walking distance and the harbour village of Saundersfoot is a short drive away.

Carn Springs has geese, guinea fowl, chicken and ducks so free-range eggs are often available. Its modern toilet and shower block has large showers and hot running water; the site also has a washing-up area and chemical disposal.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Nothing really, other than our luck which was to book the weekend of Ironman Wales which meant that many of the surrounding roads were closed during the day.

Quiet, well maintained site. We had a lakeside grass electric pitch and it was lovely. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The shower rooms each have toilet and sink so it was like having your own bathroom. The hosts gave us a warm welcome and we really enjoyed our Welsh cakes gift.
A great little site with Tenby & Saundersfoot a short drive away.

Lovely rural location. And a short drive away from local attractions and Tenby.
There's a lake in the middle of this reasonably small campsite.
Plenty of room around our pitch. Great place to relax. The only noise was the birds
Tenby is a 10 minute drive away.
Park up and go to reception for your talk through with the lovely receptionist.
Lynda will then take you to your pitch, either by her walking, or on her bike (which I thought was great). Always there on hand and making sure we were happy.
Showers & toilets are set up with toilet, sink and shower in the one room you are freshening up in - very handy. Very clean.
    Will definitely be returning.
