  • Picton Castle Gardens 15 minutes’ drive; Saundersfoot 25 minutes
  • Preseli Hills views; playground; barbecues for hire; dogs welcome
There are more than just a couple of oak trees at Twin Oaks Holidays. In fact, this site on a farm in west Wales, is positively surrounded by them. They provide shade for the spacious pitches and plenty of potential entertainment – especially if your kids are in a climbing mood. Children who have never climbed a tree (and have no intention of starting now) needn’t worry, though: there’s lots for them to do here, starting with a play area and the chance to meet the resident animals, not to mention oodles of space to run around in. Located just off the A40, a five-minute drive from the market town of Narberth, this spot is a cinch for caravans and motorhomes to reach, and it has a hard road to park on (so there’ll be no getting stuck in the mud). You can wake up to views of the pretty Preseli Hill, then head into Coed Canaston Wood (five minutes’ drive) for a walk with your four-legged companion, a welcome guest here. There’s also fishing to be had nearby – just ask on the farm for details. Amenities include a well-maintained toilet and shower block with plenty of hot water. Keen to put your campfire cooking skills to the test? You can rent a barbecue or a firepit on site and prepare a meal with provisions sourced from Narberth. (There’s also a communal fridge freezer and a covered washing-up area.) If stoking up the barbecue feels too much like hard work, Narberth has plenty of independent cafés and restaurants.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, friendly site with spacious pitches and beautiful countryside views, ideal for families and dogs. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are frequently described as very clean. While some guests found them basic, others praised the hot showers and regular replenishment of toilet paper. The site offers a good children's play area and is conveniently located for local attractions. Liked Hidden Gem!

Beautiful peaceful little site with far reaching views and easy walk into Narberth with its lovely shops, pubs and restaurants and regular bus/train into Tenby. Warm welcome from Linda, the owner, who went above and beyond during our stay to help us with several issues with our motorhome. An absolute star! Will look forward to staying again.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Dog exercise area

Disliked Showers dirty and very cold as not heated and window wouldn’t close , so could not have a shower. For the money pitch not very good.long grass .

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I’m sorry you felt the site was not up to your standard.
The showers are outdoor and kept as clean as possible from invading insects etc, I have never said they would be heated there is always plenty of hot water from the showers.

Just for your information, it has rained nearly everyday this year thus far , however I have managed to top the grass i just before your visit.

I make no apology for the site, we are small value for money and you are one of the very few who feel this way .

I suggest you pay more for a bigger site who’s facilities may also not be heated at this time of year, or stay in a hotel.

I would recommend this site. Clean, friendly, and open all year.

Liked So brilliant to find a site open in the winter months when a hook up makes such a difference. I felt very welcomed and cared for. Excellent facilities for a simple site.

The views of the local countryside were beautiful.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Linda was a very friendly lady , who told us all the information required . Toilets ,ladies ,family room and shower were kept very clean and tidy . There was a few grumbles about no toilet paper one night . Well I always have a packet of tissues with me to hand ,just in case . There was alot of people using the toilets , so that could not be helped . I remember the days ,you always had to take your own loo roll . Very relaxing break for us , and used it as a place to put our heads down. Clean toilets ,showers ,poor Linda was cleaning at midnight one night ,to ensure everything clean for next morning . I washed up once ,didn't bother me boiling a kettle or waiting to wash up. I could have a chat with other campers . Didn't use internet or WiFi as time out for just me and my partner .

Disliked Partner is not a fan of the male portaloo. I understand that the campsite was very busy due to bank holiday weekend .

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked It was our first camping trip with the kids, and it was amazing. This campsite is right next to Bluestone and Folly Farm, and great for visiting beaches in Pembs just 20 mins away from Coppett Hall Beach and 30 mins from Newgale beach. Easy to get to from the A40 too. The tents were well spaced out. We had a lovely view of the sun setting by the two big oak trees. The owner was really helpful and came by each day to make sure everything was ok. There were 3 separate toilets, a larger family one with a shower, a female toilet and a separate men's toilet. Then there were two additional separate showers. These were regularly kept clean. There was a kitchen sink area and with a communal freezer and kettle and we were given bins for recycling. There was a great children's play area with football, badminton and a climbing frame, and a huge field behind, ample room for the kids to run about and have fun. Friendly horses close by were lovely too. There were a few firepits for roasting marshmallows, and many benches throughout the field. Reduced noise was after 8pm and Quiet time was 10pm which was great for us as a family after a long exhausting day at the beach. We will definitely be back!

Disliked Nothing really to complain about! We loved our stay.

Local attractions

The vintage-style rides at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) include dodgems, chair-o-planes and a waltzer, plus a Ferris wheel. The children might prefer to make a beeline for the animals, though, with exotic beasties in the zoo and meet-and-greet experiences in the barn (including lambs and miniature ponies). Stroll through the woodland at Picton Castle Gardens (15 minutes), admiring lush ferns, rhododendron bushes and giant redwood trees, then check out the winged residents at the Welsh Owl Garden or explore the elegant interiors of the stately home. You’re less than half an hour from the coast here, so when the seaside calls on a summer’s day, make sure you answer. Saundersfoot (25 minutes) has a sandy beach and shallow waters for paddling, plus a harbour with seafood restaurants and fishing charter boats. Tenby (25 minutes) has two sandy stretches either side of a headland topped by the ruins of a medieval castle.
