  • Saundersfoot beach 15 minutes’ drive; Tenby 20 minutes
  • Heated swimming pool and games room; dog exercise area
Just on the edge of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, family-oriented Redford Caravan Park is the sort of place where you’ll arrive on site and your offspring may well disappear until it’s time for tea – there’s just so much to do (safely) around the place. Smashing amenities for kids include two play areas with swings and slides, and an adventure park with climbing frames and rope swings. Get together with all the family to enjoy a picnic by the river, while keeping an eye out for bug hotels, bird baths and bird feeders, all attracting wildlife to the park. On chillier days, the games room should take care of any bored teens as it has a pool table, air hockey, an old-fashioned grabber game and slot machines. Best of all, the heated swimming pool has a retractable cover, so it’s an outdoor pool in warmer months and an indoor one for the rest of year. Any family dogs are welcome to join your Pembrokeshire adventuring too; on site there’s a doggy play park where they can run free and chase around the obstacle course, and there are several dog-friendly beaches within 15 minutes’ drive. Practical amenities on site include the launderette with washing machine and tumble dryer, a loo block and electric hook-ups on the landscaped pitches.

Liked: Nice site, clearly the owners are heavily investing in the site. Lovely clean facilities and a cracking pool. Parks for the children to play and everyone we met was super helpful. Site was an easy drive, no small roads unsuitable for large vehicles. Welcome bag with shower gels and shampoos, very nice touch. Definitely will be back next season.

Disliked: Not the sites fault, phone signal was poor. So was forced into purchasing site Wi-Fi that was expensive and substandard. 3Mbps download speeds that kept dropping out. The internet is the reason for 4 star, if it had good internet reasonably priced, this site is 5 star all day!!! There looks to be a lot of seasonal tourers. If you want to be seasonal, get a static caravan there are plenty on site.

Liked: The park was lovely and clean. Facilities were great, hot showers, and clean toilets. The disabled toilet and shower were good also. We enjoyed our stay and used the swimming pool and added bonus of games room. The lady on reception was very helpful with our needs and questions. I do feel like there needs to be set hours for reception and the shop because I was unsure of opening times, etc.

Disliked: Was a bit let down that at my time of booking, I wasn't made aware the clubhouse was closed so we had to entertain ourselves. Also the WiFi connection was appalling but we managed to get through the stay keeping occupied otherwise.

From the manager: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review and staying with us in your touring caravan accommodation on the fully serviced pitches. We are glad you stated that you liked and loved the pool, park and Club house. We are sorry about the Wi-Fi however the Wi-Fi is provided through a third party and has nothing to do with the caravan park thus is out of our control. However we are happy to help where we can, please contact reception directly and we will provided you with the details of the Wi-Fi provider. Please keep in mind that as we are based in the Pembrokeshire's countryside the Wi-Fi and phone signal is not as fast as the city's and again this is out of our control. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again very soon. Thank you, The team at Redford, Great Redford and Rosehill Caravan Park.

Liked: Lovely pitch. Toilets and shower bloke were spotless. My children loved the swimming pool and park. Only a 5 minute drive to Narbeth for shopping. Location was lovely. Small and friendly site.

Disliked: Unfortunately the clubhouse was closed to the disappointment of my youngest aged 7. Wifi was poor we paid 7 pound for 3 days for it to not really work.

From the manager: Hello, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review and staying with us in your own caravan accommodation. We are glad you stated that you liked and loved the pool, park and facilities. With regards to the club house unfortunately the club house is currently closed due to staffing issues, however we have not advertised that it is open this season on our listing and it clearly states on our website that it is currently closed. We are sorry about the Wi-Fi however the Wi-Fi is provided through a third party and has nothing to do with the caravan park and is out of our control. However we are happy to help where we can, please contact reception directly and we will provided you with the details of the Wi-Fi provider. Please keep in mind that as we are based in the Pembrokeshire's countryside the Wi-Fi and phone signal is not as fast as the city's and again this is out of our control. We hope yourselves and your children enjoyed the 2 play areas, activity adventure course, fairy garden, games room and swimming pool during your holiday and wondered if you collected the activity sheets available in reception during your stay? If you could kindly contact us directly and please let us know why you scored the facilities, child friendliness and the accommodation at 6, especially as you stayed in your own accommodation, we would be grateful in an effort to improve customer enjoyment. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you, The team at Redford Caravan Park.

Local attractions

Kids clamouring for the beach? Quiet Coppet Hall beach is the spot for rockpooling and building castles in the sand, while the popular sands at Saundersfoot beach (both 15 minutes’ drive) are backed by cafés and fish and chip shops. Time spent in colourful seaside Tenby (20 minutes) gives visitors the option of going on mackerel fishing trips and boat cruises to Caldey Island, or you can linger on beaches with views to monumental Goskar Rock and the town’s 12th-century castle. And of course, you can tire yourselves out on bracing walks and cycle rides with ocean views in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park (10 minutes). When only cuddling animals will do, donkeys, piglets and lambs (in spring) await at Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (10 minutes), where there’s also a penguin pool and vintage fairground. Kids get to meet red pandas, tigers and gibbons at Manor Wildlife Park (20 minutes) when playing mini-keepers for the day, and if more adrenaline-inducing days out are required, you can always make for the rollercoasters at Oakwood Theme Park (10 minutes).
