  • Country pub Hotel and restaurant with serviced campervan pitches
  • Folly Farm three minutes' drive; 10 minutes to Tenby or Saundersfoot
  • Family-run pub with beer garden and home-cooked meals
Finding a campervan pitch in the grounds of a pub is always a good idea for ease of access to an evening meal and a drink or two at the end of the day. But it gets even better at The Begelly Arms, where you’ll get not just that but also a handy location that puts you within just a short drive of some of Pembrokeshire’s top attractions (beaches, castles and family attractions among them). This family-run pub is about half a mile from Kilgetty, in a very convenient spot close to both the A477 and A478 for easy journeys to all sorts of places – Folly Farm is pretty much just round the corner, and the beaches of Tenby, Amroth and Saundersfoot are about 10 minutes’ drive away, as are places like Carew Castle and Oakwood Theme Park. That means filling your days should be straightforward – and so should catering for your evenings, as the pub has a restaurant serving up home-cooked meals (using local seasonal produce where possible). There’s a good range of drinks, too – including an impressive range of whiskies – which you can sip in the cosy interior or out in the beer garden on sunnier days. You’ll be pitching up in the pub’s car park, which has a small number of dog-friendly hardstanding pitches with grass areas and services including water, waste and electricity. You’ll have access to the pub’s toilets during opening hours, and you can also buy breakfasts in the restaurant if you like.

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Nice level well maintained hardstanding with included EHU for a reasonable price. Friendly staff and excellent, reasonably priced food. The hotel entrance is open all night giving access to loos. The pitches are at the back of the pub car park and I was worried it might get noisy at closing time but it didn’t.

Disliked: It’s a shame dogs aren’t allowed inside anywhere but I was offered take-away food if I didn’t want to leave mine alone in the van while I ate.

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Lovely clean pitch with electric and water, £15 a night bargain, there's room for 5 motohomes with hook up, but more welcome without ELH. Dog friendly lovely patioed area at the side of the hotel, toilet in hotel open all night. You can book breakfast £10 which was delicious 😋 reasonable prices in the bar, and food was really good. Nice selection on the menu. Only draw back no dog bins, but one in the village, or anywhere for your rubbish. Would definitely book again, it's situated between Saundersfoot and Tenby for lovely days out.

Disliked: No bins for rubbish or dog poop

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Excellent spot. Lovely friendly staff. Toilets open 24hr. It is a work in progress but perfect for us. The owners are working really hard to make it even better. Quiet with minimal road noise. 10 minutes from local beaches, folly farm etc. Tables outside if you have a dog.

Disliked: No dogs in the pub. There are tables outside. No rubbish/dog bins but the owner has tried but the council has said only the pubs rubbish can be collected.

From the manager: Thanks for the review appreciated. In relation to you mentioning rubbish disposal. When we joined CAMpRA as a camper van site, they indicated to us that most camper vans generally take their rubbish away with them. We have a policy of re-cycling all our waste as much as possible, but as a business have to pay for our refuse and re-cycling to be collected by our local authority. Which would of course means if we have bins for campervans, we would have to pass on to the charges. Which we have tried to keep as low as possible In relation to the dog bins there are dog bins situated in the village on most of the walks and paths in and one in fact on a path 100 yards away from us (The Miners Walk) which is a path frequently used for dog walkers and very popular

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: The locals were welcoming

Disliked: When we arrived, having booked and paid a deposit via pitch up we entered the pub to pay the balance and was greeted by a rude man who said the pitch had been double booked and therefore there was not a pitch for us, they offered for us to stay in the car park for free (not what you expect when you have booked and paid a deposit). The owner came out some time later and said we could stay and interestingly nobody else did arrive that night. This was sold as a dog friendly with grass pitches the “grass” next to the pitches was astroturf. The actual only grassy area in sight had a”NO DOGS ALOUD” sign and dogs were not allowed in the pub so I really fail to see how this is a “dog friendly site” couldn’t cook in the morning as the waste pipe, in the astroturf area was open for all to smell so left swiftly!!!

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: We had 3 night staying at The Begelly Arms. We are new to owning a motorhome and this was our 2nd trip. There were a few minor issues that I must say were dealt with promptly and without any fuss whatsoever. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We had an evening meal on our first night and Sunday Lunch both were amazing. The train station was a 10 minute walk and we had a lovely trip to Tenby. We will definitely be back.

Disliked: It would of been handy to have a list of opening times and explanation of where things were when we checked in. We couldn't get into the bin area easily as the gate was locked when we had rubbish to get rid off. Minor issues but thought it would be worth mentioning.

From the manager: we do not offer refuse emptying as CAMpRA advised not required. most people take home their own rubbish we have to pay for our recycling and separate individual items for collection.

Fully-serviced hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked: Clean, organised and convenient. Perfect for a 1 night stop. Friendly staff and the pub serves good pub grub. The toilets are open 24/7.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike as long as you are aware this is on a pub car park with water & electric at each of the 4 pitches. The pitches are hard standing with a small astro turf area to the side.
