  • Country pub Hotel and restaurant with serviced campervan pitches
  • Folly Farm three minutes' drive; 10 minutes to Tenby or Saundersfoot
  • Family-run pub with beer garden and home-cooked meals
Finding a campervan pitch in the grounds of a pub is always a good idea for ease of access to an evening meal and a drink or two at the end of the day. But it gets even better at The Begelly Arms, where you’ll get not just that but also a handy location that puts you within just a short drive of some of Pembrokeshire’s top attractions (beaches, castles and family attractions among them). This family-run pub is about half a mile from Kilgetty, in a very convenient spot close to both the A477 and A478 for easy journeys to all sorts of places – Folly Farm is pretty much just round the corner, and the beaches of Tenby, Amroth and Saundersfoot are about 10 minutes’ drive away, as are places like Carew Castle and Oakwood Theme Park. That means filling your days should be straightforward – and so should catering for your evenings, as the pub has a restaurant serving up home-cooked meals (using local seasonal produce where possible). There’s a good range of drinks, too – including an impressive range of whiskies – which you can sip in the cosy interior or out in the beer garden on sunnier days. You’ll be pitching up in the pub’s car park, which has a small number of dog-friendly hardstanding pitches with grass areas and services including water, waste and electricity. You’ll have access to the pub’s toilets during opening hours, and you can also buy breakfasts in the restaurant if you like.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: The fact that it says dogs welcome and you are constantly being watched by the landlady. She made our stay so uncomfortable we left. Spent 3 nights there after paying for 5. Couldn’t put up with it anymore .

From the manager: It's a shame always to have one customer who for some reason gives us a hard time because we have certain rules on site which includes dogs. You were joined in the afternoon by a friend who visited you and had some drink in the after noon along with yourselves and in the end was incapable of driving, and we allowed him to stay in the car park and he also had a dog which was let loose to roam around free. As you know you are in a live hotel/pub car park and vehicles come in and out constantly, and there are also children around coming in and out of the pub. Dogs are allowed outside but to be kept on leads at all times as cars sometimes come in quicker than we would like. and loose dogs could cause an issue which is why we ask for them to be on a lead. ITS NOT HARD AND ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY NOT OURS, but if a dog was injured by a car or a car was damaged by a dog then who gets the blame. so you stick to our rules. you had 3 dogs and your friend had one and one of yours was loose at one point. My wife the landlady goes outside to smoke and drink coffee on a regular basis not to watch people with dogs but to chill. but she also had to tell your friend to keep his dog under control in the car park. and he eventually left and you left the same day as I understand. We have loads of vans who stay with us and have dogs and the majority respect our guidelines and what we have then we have the odd few like you who want to make life hard because we impose a couple of rules to follow on our property. AND IT FRUSTRATES ME 95% ARE BRILL AND YOUR 5% JUST WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT DOG RULES.
