  • Each pitch comes with private shower, toilet, camp kitchen and firepit
Upper Scolton Camping is a small campsite situated in central Pembrokeshire about a mile from the small village of Spittal. The campsite is part of a working farm, with spacious grounds that included a fenced-off pond area and a paddock with far-reaching rural views. The large pitches all come with a camp hut, which includes a well-equipped camp kitchen (with a two-ring hob and coolbox), a private shower and a composting toilet. Outside, there is also a picnic bench and firepit with a grill for each pitch. A parking area adjoining the camping field allows guests to move cars after unloading to leave the field safe and peaceful for all. Up at the farmyard, there are also shared facilities like fridges and freezers, as well as plugs for charging phones. In addition, a small shop is on offer where you can pick up firewood and other essentials for your stay. The farm operates 365 days a year with its 300 dairy cows and flock of Texel sheep. The owners are passionate about farming, wildlife and the environment, but because farms are busy places with machinery and large vehicles, visits to see the animals and the milking parlour are by appointment.

Foxglove electric optional grass pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: Kitchen which had everything you needed, fantastic when your camping, shower was nice and hot, clean. Beautiful scenery, free use of fridge and ice blocks. The owners mum was a lovely lady, went out of her way to welcome us. We were very lucky and had the whole site to ourselves,so very peaceful.

Disliked: We didn't dislike the compost toilet, but there was no mention of a step you had to stand on first to get onto the toilet,it was fine for myself and my husband, but my daughter has slight mobility issues as she has additional needs, but after a few days she got the hang of it. Just a mention for anyone who has mobility issues about the toilet step.

Campion electric optional grass pitch (private bathroom amenities)

Liked: This campsite is set on a farm with stunning views from all angles. Each pitch has a vast amount of area and are not positioned close to others, with a fully equipped kitchen, seating inside and out, fire-pit (logs and lighting material available on the farm) and personal toilet and electric shower, all of which are immaculate. The fire-pit at night with a view of the sunset is beautiful and is worth a stay just for this. The local pub 'The Pump on the Green' is around a 2 minute drive or 20 minute walk (this is via a quiet country road with no pathways but verges to stand on if a car does come up, we seen about 3 in total at 6pm), the food is great with a variety of options and large portion sizes, very welcoming too. The owners of the farm were lovely and were available whenever required, we even seen them take children from the other pitches around to see the animals and farm. We highly recommend this site for all ages and numbers and will be visiting again next year with family!

Disliked: The only downside were the amount of flies, this shouldn't deter anyone and I'm only mentioning so anyone thinking of booking can bring fly deterrents with them, hence why still giving a 5 star review.
