  • Rural Pembrokeshire site 10 minutes' drive from Haverfordwest
  • A 10-minute drive to Broad Haven beach; 20 minutes to Pembroke
  • Secluded dog-friendly pitches among woods and wildflower meadow
Can't decide between that trip to the coast or the country? Both are easily accessible from Kite View Farm, a rural site 10 minutes' drive from Haverfordwest (a handy spot indeed for exploring both Pembrokeshire's coastline and its rural attractions). If you’re looking to surround yourself with nature, this could be the place for you – it’s part of a working farm with its own ancient woodland (where you can sleep among the trees if you wish) along with a six-acre wild herb and flower meadow. Take wanders along local footpaths for a good rural fix if you like, or head to the coast to soak up the sea air: St Bride’s Bay is about a 10-minute drive away for walks on the Wales Coast Path or days on Broad Haven beach. Popular spots like Barafundle Bay, Marloes Sands, Tenby and St Davids are all within a half-hour drive too, although there are lots of hidden gems to find too if you know where to look. Facilities here include showers and compost loos, along with ice pack freezing to keep your food cool. Dogs are welcome to join you at this rural haven, and are provided with a dog park so they can have a good run about without disturbing the peace.

Meadow non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Very quiet and peaceful site. The tranquility really is beautiful. We had a really chilled weekend there in June 2025. Pembrokeshire is a very beautiful part of Wales with it's large National Park. We were greeted at the entrance to our pitch by Mac who was very friendly with plenty of good advice. Well spaced pitches giving you the feeling of privacy. Most pitches also have picnic tables.

Disliked Composting toilet, although adequate not my idea of a nice toilet, luckily we had a portable toilet in our campervan. The gnats and flies were a bit of a problem, but then that's nature for you.

Lovely back to nature spot

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Simple, peaceful, beautiful. We had the lush green meadow to ourselves, and we're disturbed only by a tawny owl calling from a tree near our tent.

Disliked Kitchen area a bit run down. Only one shower. Dry toilets in need of a good clean.

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely wild feeling campsite but with the facilities to be comfy (hot shower and toilets), gorgeous woodland area with a pretty river running through it. Firepits and tripods for cooking available and some lovely views over the nearby rolling hills. The campsite owner was very hospitable :)

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Stunning location!! Peaceful and spacious. Facilities basic but adequate. Plenty of compost toilets dotted around and a warm shower. We took the dogs and there some lovely walks from the campsite. Sat star gazing at night listening to the wildlife around a fire pit( cheap to hire from the site)
Would totally recommend to those who enjoy camping on the wilder side!! Lovely stay.

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely spot. Big meadow field surrounded by old forest. Warm clean shower. They don’t cram tents in so lots of space for each pitch which is nice. Not far from some of the best beaches in the UK. Very dog friendly too.

Tree ready tent

Liked Really enjoyed our visit to Kite View! The tree tent was a great experience. Felt warm and cosy in the night. We purchased the additional log burner and logs - which I would recommend - they come at a small additional price. There was also seating under canopy close by to the tent which was great. The location was perfect, just sat back off the field in the trees so had lots of privacy and could wake up to bird song. I see others mentioned about horse flys - we packed fly repellent to be on the safe but found we didn't require it. Worth packing though. Facilities are relatively basic as described but perfect for a digital detox getaway. Composting toilet was a first for us and really not bad at all!
We met Mark who was very pleasant.

Disliked No major negatives at all. Only minor things that are subjective to us. Storage of bags I found a little tricky in the tree tent but then again, we don't pack light! This is all personal opinion and how much you wish to bring with you. Car was parked close by which came in handy. The more visitors that came to the Campsite, the toilets became less appealing. This is most likely visitors not reading/following the toilet instructions so not really fault of the campsite necessarily. Just something to have in mind if you're not keen on composting toilets.

Easy access to Skoma Island Boat Tours & Marloes Penninsular.

Meadow non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Perfectly located for visiting Skomer Island & it's seabird colonies. Just a twenty minute drive down quiet roads.
Waking up to just the sound of birdsong is always a bonus & the fact that I had the field to myself for three out of four nights was even better.
The compost toilets may not be to everyone's taste but they were adequate & served a purpose. Certainly better than the alternative.
The water in the shower was also nice & hot.
The field had recently been harvested for the hay & due to the recent weather there were a lot of wheel ruts from the tractor which meant the ground was far from smooth & flat. It may be that this will be rolled shortly so I can't put it down as a "dislike". There was also a couple of ferns growing up through the floor of the toilet & the grass was quite long around the door making it difficult to close without a little bit of judicious gardening. Again, I was there in mid May so maybe I was just a bit earlier than most people.
I don't know how busy the site gets but a few more toitets & a second shower would also be good.
From my very brief conversation with the owner I got the impression that he does have plans to improve the site further.
Having only been camping for about twelve months, I found it to be a perfectly acceptable, peaceful site on which to set up camp for a few days.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

Point your compass towards the Pembrokeshire coast… surfers flock to Newgale beach (20 minutes’ drive), and with kit hire and lessons on offer beginners could pick up a new hobby too. Sea angling is popular at Marloes Sands (20 minutes), a long, rocky stretch of sand, while Tenby (half an hour) has tons more watersports rentals and sandy beaches, as well as rib rides or trails around the town for those who’d rather stay dry. To round off your coastal itinerary, you might want to call in at Britain’s smallest city, St Davids (half an hour), or bring your bucket and spades down to the stunning sand on Barafundle Bay (half an hour). The coastal path is one way to make your way around the many coves, stopping off at Bosherston lily ponds (25 minutes) to see the water lilies. If you’re able to pull yourself away from the coast, there’s a lot of places to visit inland too, from a guided tour around the huge Pembroke Castle (20 minutes) to a visit to Llys-y-frân (25 minutes), a lake in the Preseli Hills where watersports and outdoor activities are the speciality – you could try out archery, canoeing or paddleboarding here.
