Bailey's Lake, the first lake as you enter Yet-Y-Gors

General

  • Peaceful site five minutes from the ferry to Ireland
  • Four fishing lakes surrounded by acres of green countryside
  • Well-equipped eight-berth static caravan overlooking the lakes

Fishing holidays in Fishguard: sorted. Hook a stay at scenic and peaceful Yet-Y-Gors Campsite and Fishery for an angling break in spectacular surroundings, on peaceful grounds with four fishing lakes and in a setting where the stars and the sunsets are both stunning.

The fishing lakes are open to all levels of ability from novice to expert and are stocked with a wide range of coarse fish: carp, grass carp, common carp, Koi carp, ghost carp, perch, roach, tench and bream are all here to land. The owners can supply all you need for a day's angling at the site’s tackle shop, where live bait and tackle is for sale and rods are available for hire. There’s plenty of room around the lakes for all too, so peaceful days are pretty much guaranteed.

If you’re not an angler, or are a fishing widow/er, 17 acres of quiet countryside surround the site for serene strolls, or you can head off site to Fishguard five minutes’ drive away or St Davids and Haverfordwest for sightseeing and shopping. You could (brownie points time) go shopping too for outdoor eats under these clear night skies; shops stuffed with local produce are within easy reach and Fishguard has a food market twice a week.

Accommodation at Yet-Y-Gors is in a well-equipped eight-berth static caravan overlooking one of the lakes, with plenty of seating, a good-sized kitchen and outdoor decking with barbecue for those outdoor eats.

Very clean and tidy. A peaceful setting with very helpful and friendly owners. The lakes are well kept and great for fishing and waling around. There is a really good pub 10-15 minutes walk away which serves good food and the owners are very hospitable.

Very close to Fishguard, St.Davids, Strumble Head and coast path walks. If you are a golf-ist, there are plenty of places to swing your bats.

    Disliked:

Not the best mobile signal but this is more to do with the ineptitude of UK mobile service providers. O2 & Vodafone predictably poor, EE is ok.

Could do with a sign warning of the turning to enter I'm sure we aren't alone in using Travis perkins as a turn around :)

From the manager...

Hi it was so nice to have such a wonderful review many thanks

The sign is a great idea - the council are not keen on road signage being in a rural area so would probably remove it unfortunately - but thanks for the suggestion it is really helpful to receive constructive comments,

It was a lovely site, very quiet and peaceful, lots of different areas to walk our two dogs who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Hannah and Darren were a lovely couple, very friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be using them in the future.

    Disliked:

The bed was a little uncomfortable but as we were only there for three nights didn't cause too much concern. On our last night a family arrived to stay in the next caravan, they also had two dogs, one was very well behaved but the other one did nothing but yap - this would have got on my nerves had we been staying longer but hopefully Hannah would have had a word with them!

From the manager...

Thanks for taking time to write us a review.
Pleased you found the site quiet and peaceful and the caravan clean. The family with the dog are still with us and all is peaceful now.
I will keep an eye on the bed situation, as nobody else has complained, but thanks for pointing it out.

Do hope your dog is ok now and I was glad to help by letting you keep him in the caravan for a short time when you went out.

Kind regards Hannah and Darren
