  • Family-friendly site with sea views, 10 minutes’ drive from Fishguard
  • Dinas Mountain 10 minutes’ drive; Cardigan half an hour
  • Dogs welcome; launderette; communal microwave and freezer
Whether you’re into long hikes along the rugged northern coast of Pembrokeshire (thank you, Pembrokeshire Coast Path) or exploring pretty beaches hidden in small, sheltered coves, Fishguard Bay Caravan & Camping Park puts you within easy access of your pleasure. This peaceful spot sits just off the A487 linking Fishguard (10 minutes’ drive) and Cardigan (half an hour), high atop a cliff with spectacular views of St George’s Channel. Into watersports? Nearby beaches (all about a 10-minute drive from the site) include Goodwick Sands, whose shallow waters are great for kids (and the family dog) to splash around; Cwm-yr-Eglwys, a popular spot for rockpooling and watersports; and Pwllgwaelod Beach, surrounded by tall cliffs that are home to fulmars and peregrine falcons. Speaking of birds… if you’re after a bird’s eye view of Pembrokeshire’s north coast, head to Dinas Mountain (10 minutes), from the summit of which, on clear days, you might also catch a glimpse of Ireland’s Wicklow Hills. All pitches at Fishguard Bay come with electrical hook-ups, and on-site amenities include a launderette and a washing-up room with communal microwave ovens and a freezer for ice packs. There’s a small food shop, too (alternatively, the nearest store is five minutes’ drive along the A487). For an added touch of luxury, the modern toilet/shower block features underfloor heating.

What customers say

This campsite boasts stunning coastal views and direct access to the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Visitors praise the immaculately clean facilities and the helpful, friendly staff. Pitches are generally well-spaced, though some reviews suggest motorhome and campervan pitches can feel cramped or be located between lodges, impacting privacy. Access via a narrow lane is also noted as a potential challenge. Some guests reported issues with noisy generators and overflowing bins, but the overall sentiment highlights a well-maintained and peaceful park.

Liked Beautiful views. Facilities are good. Awesome walls nearby

Disliked We had no idea that everything would be closed on our arrival - sunday. The welcome pack (which we were emailed is written with only holiday chalets in mind) indicated they would be open. There were 3 washing machines only 1 worked, the information board above the washing machines stated they took various denominations however the working washing only took £1 coins. Our pitch T02 was unlevel in two directions, ramps made no difference. There is a massive generator near pitch T08 which is rather noisy. The whole of this campsite is designed around holiday chalets with a second thought given to campervans/mobile homes - to such an extent that several of the available park ups appear to be between chalets.
We tried calling and leaving messages on the 2 contact numbers given but to no avail. Eventually calling the emergency number.
I think customer service comes as a second thought as when I enquired about obtaining change for the machines the reply given was "you'll have to go in to Fishguard for that"
All dustbin were overflowing and both toilet blocks weren't particularly clean

Liked The view was good.

Disliked The small pitch and the 24 hour generator which was loud all night.
It was too close to the caravan and the car for the next chalet could hardly get out.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Great views from the touring pitches. Facilities were very clean.

Disliked Only one washing machine and one dryer working In laundry.
Access from road to site is long and very narrow with stone side walls in places, so made it difficult in places to manouver when towing a caravan.
Shop assistant seemed to be closing the shop during opening hours a little to often and for extended periods, longer than the 15 minute sign left (over half hour at times)

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Booking was easy. The site had all necessary facilities with good sized pitches at a reasonable price. Communal facilities were clean and well maintained. Reception staff was very helpful.

Disliked A minor issue was the narrowness of the long drive way with rather small passing places.

Local attractions

Fishguard’s pretty Lower Harbour is surrounded by vegetation-covered hills, where trails lead to the ruins of an old fort. From there you can admire ferries sailing in and out of the new harbour, which sits between Fishguard and Goodwick. Near the ferry terminal is Ocean Lab - Sea Trust Wales, with an aquarium and organised rockpool safaris. Tŷ Canol National Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is dotted with archaeological remains, such as the Neolithic-era Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber (a sort of miniature Stonehenge) and the Waun Mawn Standing Stones. Castell Henllys Iron Age Village is a reconstructed settlement with roundhouses, plus re-enactments and workshops. On the banks of the River Teifi, in Cardigan (half an hour), is a castle whose medieval walls enclose an elegant Georgian house and garden. Just outside the town, the modern Welsh Wildlife Centre has informative displays on the surrounding Teifi Marsh Nature Reserve, which is home to dragonflies, mallards and otters.
