  • Eco-friendly, small-scale site in the Pembrokeshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Amroth and its beach; Saundersfoot 15 minutes
  • Free-range hens, guinea fowl and tame sheep; on-site nature walk
Are you all about the countryside? A dyed in the wool fan of outdoor life? Then take a closer look at Green Sheep Camping, a friendly wildlife haven near the village of Amroth that's located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and a little over a mile from the Wales Coast Path. This site is a member of the Greener Camping Club and is committed to keeping things small, eco-friendly and sustainable. There's a maximum of ten parties on site at any one time here, all of which have access to their own firepit. There's also an old dairy where you can eat out of the way of the elements if required, plus well-kept flushing toilets and warm showers. There are also quite a few animals on site, including free-range chickens, guinea fowl and friendly rare-breed Wiltshire Horn sheep. At certain times kids may have the chance to interact with some of the farm's tame permanent residents. Non-domesticated nature also thrives here: walk through the site's wildflower meadow or in its mossy oak woodland down to the stream at the bottom of the valley and you'll likely see lots of inspiring plant and animal life. There's plenty of room in the woodlands for energetic kids as well: den-building, playing on rope swings and slinging hammocks between the trees are all options that may appeal.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay, Theri was very welcoming. The pitches are well spread out, with individual fire pits and seating areas. The barn has lots of games for the children and all the extra touches had been thought about - extra loo rolls, spaces to cook and eat in the barn for bad weather, washing and drying facilities for when you need them. The location is great, just off the main road with easy access to loads of fun things to do with the kids and the beach at Amroth is lovely for swimming.

From the manager: Thank you Alex, Grace and Wilbur for camping with us and for being such a lovely family to host. Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: I can’t rate this place highly enough. It really was the best campsite my daughter and I have been to. Theri the host, went above and beyond to make the place what it is. She is passionate about her place and it shows, Always on hand and wanting to help…. Perfect location with great views. Very peaceful campsite with all you could possibly need as a camper. Had a big barn with games for kids and adults. Big fridge and chargers in a nice warm part of the barn, where campers would congregate and play games, Had a real community feel. We had a drinking water tap next to our tent which is always convenient. The toilets and shower were very clean. The birds wondering around were nice to see. Theri took us to feed the sheep, which the kids and myself enjoyed very much. The area has lots to do. Huge thank you to Theri xxxx

Disliked: Nothing. I will be going again, one day

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Great to have fire pit and benches provided to save room on packing. Pitches nice and spaced out for maximum relaxation, privacy and nature. Fridge and freezer space plenty and nice to have the covered areas for bad weather.

Disliked: Not a huge problem but there was sometimes a wait for the loos and some of the children found it hard to know when they were occupied so the doors were often rattled mid use!

Liked: We had a lovely time. We only stayed for a few days and would have loved more time to explore the area. The campsite is in a beautiful setting and so spacious to explore and relax. Really lovely amenities for children too and it has a very sociable feel to it. Theri made us feel very welcome and we hope to be back some day

Liked: Beautiful place, and really personal, friendly feel to the campsite. Theri was so helpful with local info, and let us feed the sheep with her! Nice showers and loos, useful fridge and place to charge phones. Lots of space between pitches, and firepit area at each pitch. We loved our stay, couldn't have been better!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked: We really liked the campsite, The owner Teri is really friendly and a font of all knowledge. The pitch sizes were amazing, and each pitch on our field had benches and a fire pit area. There were only 5 pitches in total in our camp field so you really did feel spread out. Toilets and showers were clean and the showers were hot. It was lovely that my daughter was able to go and feed the sheep on our last morning.

Disliked: Not really a dislike more a way to improve I guess…. It’s called an eco campsite and I think that element of ‘eco’ could be explored much more. There are only 2 toilets on the whole site, maybe composting toilets could be an addition to the current toilets in place.
