General

  • Small wildlife haven site set around a large pond
  • Within walking distance of many attractions including Heatherton
  • Modern toilet and shower block

What a peaceful place... Pembrokeshire's Carn Springs in a wildlife haven near the coast at Tenby is set in mature grounds with a central lake making up a natural habitat for many species of birds, waterfowl and other critters: rest relaxedly here around the campfire to see swallows and bats flitting overhead as dusk falls…

This is a site for switching off at, whether you want to lie back and think of nature spotting, read, paint, or visit the many traditional towns and villages nearby. When/if you want to switch on again, Heatherton World of Activities, Manor House Wildlife Park and Tenby Dinosaur Park are all within walking distance and the harbour village of Saundersfoot is a short drive away.

Carn Springs has geese, guinea fowl, chicken and ducks so free-range eggs are often available. Its modern toilet and shower block has large showers and hot running water; the site also has a washing-up area and chemical disposal.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Swimming in the lake is not permitted.

Waking up to the sound of ducks and moorhens, and a beautiful sunrise over the lake. Lynda was careful to show us how to park up for the best view, and we got free Welshcakes too!

My son and I loved it there. It is beautiful. Pitch side to the lake a stunning view and the ducks to feed in the morning and with my son being 7 it was lovely. Also a nice touch of a welcome gift of welsh cakes was a treat. Amenities are excellent with the lovely decorative touches to make it feel welcome and also a gentle radio left playing all night. A very short drive to beach and children’s places like folly farm Oakwood dinosaur park.

We did a similar trip three years ago staying in an hotel but the camping is so much better. My son loves adventure and camping is definitely that you can’t put a price on playing at the beach and watching the sun go down then drinking hot chocolate under the stars together, followed by a lovey day at folly farm the next day. No iPads in sight. Thank you for having us and we will be back for sure 😍

I didn’t ask about Wifi so can’t answer this one. But that’s my fault for not finding out. But I didn’t need it

Warm welcome from Linda who showed us best place to pitch following Storm Callum. Idyllic setting, shower rooms and facilities(which we had to ourselves) were fine. Hot water always available. On one occasion had a visit from two friendly dogs! Site was peaceful and ideally located for exploring the South West corner of Wales. Tenby is a short drive away, as is Carew Castle. Whole stay was perfect! Thank you Carn Springs!!

Lake view pitch with electric hook up very close. Friendly welcoming owner. Toilet & shower in same cubicle which we prefer (4). Showers very good (best we have experienced whilst camping) and always hot. Large fridge and freezer which was very handy as we were in a tent so was able to keep our food (and wine) nicely chilled. Liked the back ground radio in the shower block! Very close to Tenby & Saundersfoot.

    Disliked:

Needs bins in the toilets (especially for ladies!) and no loo rolls in 3 of 4 cubicles one morning. Some road noise from farm traffic (obviously not the owners fault).
    No Wifi.
