General

  • Popular family-run farm park with excellent facilities and amenities
  • Animal walk, adventure play area, bakery, butcher's and off-licence
  • A mile and a half from St Davids and direct access to the coast path

Rocky the pygmy goat is 'one of the naughtiest boys on the farm', say the owners of popular Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park on the Pembrokeshire coast a mile and a half from fab little St Davids. Well of course he is – just look at that mischievous, plotting, furry little face.

He's just one of the inhabitants at this friendly, scenic and family-run farm site's animal farm walk, where your little critters can also make friends with miniature cows, pygmy goats, Kunekune pigs and small ducks, as well as the furry sorts at the large rabbit and guinea pig enclosure.

Also for kids is a new timber adventure play area with balance beams, climbing wall, bridges, tunnel, high house and slide; for grownups, there's a well-stocked shop with freshly baked bread, pastries and croissants from the in-store bakery; a butcher’s counter selling fresh local meats; and milk, cheese and dairy products, fresh fruit and vegetables, branded groceries and local alternatives.

An off-licence with a wide range of wines and beers is also available, as is Calor and camping gas cylinders, camping equipment, body boards, wetsuits, windbreaks and beach goods.

As well as all this, the site owners rightly point out there are heaps of reasons to visit this 180-acre farm: its quiet country lane location on the Pembrokeshire coast, for one, joining the Pembrokeshire Coast Path straight from the site via a quiet track, and with views from its flat site over the whole farm towards a volcanic ridge dropping steeply towards the Irish Sea. The farm is secluded enough for peace but easily accessible to the best of Pembrokeshire attractions, like the beach at Whitesands a mile and a half away.

Its facilities for another: the team members here are proud of the site and want guests to have as relaxed a stay as possible and to return many times, so they've ensured all is up to date and well maintained, including two clean and modern toilet and shower blocks with five male cubicles and five urinals, eight female cubicles, five male showers and five female showers, two family/disabled toilet and shower units, and free hairdryers and baby changing units.

Other site amenities include flat pitches, dishwashing facilities, drinking water standpipes throughout the park, chemical disposal and waste water points, and plastic bottle, can and glass recycling points.

There's also a launderette with two washing machines and two tumble dryers, an iron and ironing board and a deep handwashing sink, ice pack freezing, mobile phone charging and more; ask the farm team what's on offer when you arrive.

Pleasant site but facilities did not live up to expectations 31/10/2016

  • Liked:

Quiet and peaceful location with good views. Generous pitch sizes.

    Disliked:

Shower and toilet facilities a little 'run down' and tired looking. We were there in low season and would like to have known that the shop was closed as there is nothing nearby. Difficulty 'checking in' as owners away and shop closed.

Local to various venues, clean toilet block. The field seemed to have good drainage. Plenty of wildlife around the hedgerows. Pleasant staff.

    Disliked:

20p for a shower that lasted 4 minutes, felt rushed.
A tip for those leaving with a van in tow, check the local bus timetable as it's a single track road!

Great place for kids and adults, small farm and loads of space to play out. Within a 10min walk to the beach and a 5min drive into St Davids.

TBH you don't need to leave the farm they have everything for you at good prices.

A bus every hour which takes you around the whole of St Davids for £1.50pp

The scenery was out of this world just beautiful

We would come again in a heartbeat!

    Disliked:

The only issue I had was the loudest Snorer in the WORLD was next to my tenet haha

Kids not being supervised on the farm and they were chucking stones at the horses and spraying the goats with water, which isn't a massive issue but a little more supervision would be better.

Nice flat ground for pitching the tent fantastic location with great walks.
The showers and toilet area are kept immaculately clean at all times.
The local shop on site have an extensive array of food stuffs and camping extras that may be required. The site is run by a lovely couple who couldn't be more helpful...I didn't have the electric hook up, but the allowed me to inflate my huge double blow up bed, i think they got entertained with me attempting to inflate it, lol...a truly superb place to stay!!!!!

Local attractions

As we may have mentioned, Lleithyr Farm Holiday Park is in excellent locale, in a peaceful Pembrokeshire location but easily accessible to beaches, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, the tiny city of St Davids and many other top Pembrokeshire picks, hikes, watersports and nature: the team reckons that after a stay here, you'll def be back for more.

The farm is the closest park to the beach at Whitesands, one of the best known surfing beaches in Pembrokeshire and lifeguarded in the summer season. Several other beaut beaches are within easy driving distance.

Walks link directly from the farm, including the Pembrokeshire Coast Path's many hikes for all levels of fitness accessible straight from the farm track. From Whitesands, take the nine and a half mile hike to Caerfai Bay via Ramsey Sound and St Non's, or go 11 miles in the other direction to reach Trefin via St David's Head.

If you'd rather climb, the peak of Carn Llidi in Whitesands Bay is within easy walking distance of the farm – you may as well have an easy amble before clambering puffingly upwards...
