What customers say
This remote, peaceful campsite offers a true "hideaway in the hills" experience with stunning natural surroundings and beautiful views. Guests appreciated the quiet atmosphere, spacious pitches, provided fire pits and picnic benches, and access to a private lake with free canoe rental. Nearby hiking trails and local attractions are popular. While facilities are described as basic but clean and adequate by many, some visitors noted they could benefit from an upgrade and that the number of toilets and showers might be insufficient during peak times. The narrow access roads were mentioned by some, though often considered part of the charm.

Lovely site with clean facilities, friendly staff, and a good location
Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We were given the orchard pitch which meant that we essentially had our own private area which was a lovely bonus. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were all we needed and were kept clean. We enjoyed borrowing the canoe and going out on the lake. The location was good for the places that we wanted to visit. The small lanes up to the campsite were at first quite taxing but we quickly became used to them and it only added to the sense of adventure felt at the site as a whole.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The most beautifull camping we visited in Wales and maybe in all of Europe. When you set next to the small lake there are no sounds but the wind and the animals. We were there in the last days of september, the only people camping. And the solitude is just what we wanted and needed as two city people. The road to the campiste is a bit of an adventure but thats what we wanted :)
Einier, the owner, is very friendly and helpfull, and funny too :) We had nice chats every day and she works very hard to keep the whole place running by herself.
You can start hiking right from the camping itself. But within an hour you are in the sourt or noth of Snowdonia. So a perfect place to explore the region. Although google doesnt show it there is a small shop in Langbedr, down the hill, which has everything. Open till 9 with cold beers :) Also three nice pubs with decent food in the village.
If you want to feel away from it all this is the place to go!
Disliked A lady on the campsite complaining the camping was to isolated and giving Einier a bad feeling over it, like she could anything about it. Dont be dumb, read the description. If solitude is not your thing go somewhere else. (still within the village in ten minutes)

Never again!
Camping pod
Liked Scenic drive to the site.
Disliked Everything. The facilities were filthy. The pod we booked was dirty and damp. No walk leaflets available as advertised. No information on drinking water. The owner was unwelcoming and just pointed to the pod. The bbq/fire pit was in a state of disrepair. Remnants of a campfire immediately in front of pod peppered with cigarette ends. Fridge was broken and dirty. Left after a couple of hours as campsite not fit for purpose. We asked for refund but was denied.

A treasure of a site. Perfect.
Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful location with great views. We loved our pitch and the picnic bench and fire pit provided was really appreciated. Facilities were clean and enough for what we needed. Our children loved playing in the forest on the swings. Phone signal was poor but we really appreciated the free WiFi. We would have loved to go on the canoe but unfortunately the weather wasn’t great for us. Next time!
Disliked The road to the site is really narrow. It’s not put us off but it was snug in our campervan.

Liked A beautiful, peaceful campsite! 🌿 The campfire evenings were unforgettable, and the stargazing spot was magical — the night sky was crystal clear. Perfect for anyone looking to relax and connect with nature. Our child enjoyed playing hide and seek in the nature with other children, something kids can't do in towns.

Overall good site with stunning views
Camping pod
Liked + Great location close to forest, hills and wildlife
+ The road is a bit narrow so you have to give a way and reverse sometimes, but well maintained with reception and clear guidance.
+ Toilet / shower block. Good cleaning/washing sinks with sensor lights
+ WiFi
+ Fire pit /BBQ cooking
+ Some amazing beaches within 10-15 drive
+ Little lake with free canoe rental
+ Kids playground
The pod/site have all basic facilities with great views, lake and access
Disliked I think some minor improvements can be easily made :
1) I agree with the comments that in the men's block there is only one cubical and shower. When the campsite is fully booked this is very tight if you also add kids.
2) The shower is functional but really hot (no way to change pressure/temperature). The wooden door is not the best for the showing area.
3) WiFi is not strong enough for the lower campsite and also there is no O2 reception. Not a big problem you can walk a few steps to the block.
4) There is a sewage smell at the back of the block which is flowing down the field. Not sure what is the problem but on a warm day you can certainly smell it.
5) The pod has all facilities (the bed is a standard double and not very comfortable but it's ok for a campsite) but I do not think it is cleaned at all. (Check out/check in at 12). Bring some microfibre for dusting and antibacterial wipes
6) I was not able to see any markings to mark the area as we found someone literally park the car with windows facing the pods. I think it would help with some marking to understand the boundaries

Liked Literally a cute Hideaway in the Hills! Good for kids, with the forests and the little lake.
It is isolated, but it is a hideaway...it's part of the charm.
If camping, ask for the Penthouse!
Disliked The facilities to people capacity ratio isn't the greatest.

Very tranquil, peaceful and quiet. Good amenities.
Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Hot shower, hot water in sinks. Hand soap and toilet available provided. 2f, 1m and an accessable toilet/shower room. Camp fire pits and picnic benches with all pitches. Lovely open clean space, beautiful lake onsite, loved the twisty windy lanes leading to and from the camp, beats city driving. Loved hearing the woodpecker every morning, and watching the dragonflies, even had a frog near the tent which the kids loved. Rope swing in the trees behind the site caravans. Its a walkers paradise. Electric hookup is available if paid with pitch no issues with power supply. Close to a good selection of sightseeing/tourist attractions such as the slate caverns in Llanfair or the waterfalls
Disliked Long drive to supermarkets/fetch basics not at high prices.
