Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Great site with a good atmosphere
A campfire always sets the mood
Toilets and showers very clean and regularly cleaned

Disliked We had a fully serviced pitch but the drain for our waste water was blocked
When I told reception they pointed me to the waste water grid and left the drain blocked for the whole week
I think they misunderstood what I was saying due to a bit of a language problem

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Love this site. This is my second time visiting, first in a tent, second time in a tourer caravan, both times we had everything we needed and loved it both times. Torrent walk itself is very beautiful, and the local town is great!

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Nice site but would recommend for Tents only, we were in a motorhome and the road was very narrow for reaching and departing from the site
There was a lot of people on the site with it being a bank holiday and 99% of them were using fire pits which were in close proximity of all the pitched units
The facilities were very clean, good powerful hot showers
Ideal base for walkers
You checked yourself in online and we never once knew who actually was in charge of the site,, you pitched yourself up on your dedicated pitch on arrival
No barriers etc

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked Location is good. Showers are hot. Site is well maintained

Disliked Impersonal, rules posted everywhere, loads of people crammed in, this is like a factory farm version of camping.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review our campsite. We appreciate your feedback.

We believe that your review may be somewhat unfair. To maintain the high standards of our campsite, we must enforce certain rules. It is difficult to find a place without any rules, and although these are clearly stated at the time of booking, occasional reminders are necessary. Posting these rules in key locations is the most effective way to ensure that all guests are aware of them.

Regarding your comment about overcrowding, we respectfully disagree. Our campsite has a limited number of pitches, each of which is spacious and designed for individual bookings. We do not place multiple bookings on a single pitch. While our campsite is large, it may appear crowded during bank holiday weekends when we are fully booked. However, we believe this reflects the quality and popularity of our site.

Thank you for your understanding.

Scenic, perfect for access to snowdonia, Barmouth, Mach loop ect

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked The staff are lovely, clean showers and toilets, good views and walks in the area

Disliked Some of the higher up pitches are on a slope, wouldn't be an issue going back as would take bigger ramps, so as long as you have think level ramps, you'll be fine, but most the pitches are level enough. The view from the higher up pitches makes up for it though

Local attractions

The mountains and trails of Snowdonia, the beaches of Barmouth and the north Wales coast, and heritage attractions like the Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway and Harlech Castle are all within about half an hour’s drive of Torrent Walk, and Snowdonia National Park has activities for all sorts including whitewater rafting, horse riding, climbing and wild swimming. For gentle strolls, the National Trust managed Cregennan Lakes are about five miles west of Dolgellau on the slopes of Cadair ldris, and the flat Mawddach Trail between Dolgellau and Barmouth along the Mawddach estuary has hiking and biking paths with cracking views. Cregannan also has two lakes for fly and worm fishing, one for brown trout and the other for brown and blue. Head to the coast for Barmouth and Fairbourne, both uncrowded and with miles of golden sand. Barmouth Harbour, at the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary, is where to bag a boat for sea and fishing trips, while Fairbourne is a big pull for windsurfers and other watersport sorts. If sightseeing both seasides, take the Fairbourne Steam Railway from Fairbourne to Penrhyn Point and then the passenger ferry to Barmouth.
