What customers say

This adults-only site is praised for its immaculate cleanliness, excellent facilities including spotless and warm showers, and friendly, helpful owners. Pitches are described as spacious, level, and well-maintained, offering privacy. Located in a unique setting with dramatic slate quarry views, it's conveniently situated for local walks, Zip World, and public transport, with shops and eateries a short walk away. While a few mention the local town's run-down appearance, the campsite itself receives overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked I really liked Quarry view because of how quiet it was with polite people around. Because I had never been in a caravan on my own, the owner assured me that if I ever needed help that she was always there for me

Liked Beautiful site Janet was lovely and couldn't do enough for you the site is very well planned out very clean and has everything you need apart from WiFi but we have O2 and EE phones and no problem with signal. Great as a base for travelling round the area fish and chips were good in the town some road noise in the day but very quiet after 9pm.

Electric gravel motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Absolutely brilliant little site in the perfect location. It’s clean, quiet (no kids, suits us perfectly) and welcoming. Janet is the perfect host, very very friendly and knowledgable about the local area. We turned up on a whim earlier in the year and made a dedicated trip specially to come back as we loved it that much.

Electric gravel touring pitch (large)

Liked greeted so kindly and professionally. Janet helped me back our 6.8 metre ling motorhome onto the pitch as she was awake i was nervous as it was our first holiday in our first Motorhome. The roads are nowhere near as bad as the reviews make out. Everyone was friendly and it felt like a lovely community to be a part of over bank.holiday. the facilities were the best I've ever seen on a camping or touring pitch. The shower was better than the one we have at home and I didn't want to get out of the shower. Everything was spotless and very well presented. Absolutely beautiful place and the perfect getaway for our first motorhome holiday. Thank you so much!

Disliked On the friday we arrived the people on the pitch next to us kept letting their dog wander onto our pitch despite us advising we have a nervous and reactive dog. When they left the pitch was then occupied by a roof tent which we didn't particularly like as it made our pitch feel less private and obviously staying in a tent everything can be heard. Didn't particularly like having a pitch next time the toilet and waste disposal

Local attractions

Even if you’re not much of a train buff, it’s worth taking a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway – the steam-powered services take in some of Snowdonia’s most spectacular scenery as they wend their way down to the coast at Porthmadog. If you’ve got an appetite for more, connect here for the Welsh Highland Railway all the way up to Caernarfon. If you’d like to explore under your own steam, there are heaps of hikes in the surrounding Snowdonia National Park – Snowdon itself is just a few miles away, or you may prefer a quieter clamber up Crimpiau from Capel Curig or a circuit of Llyn Idwal from Ogwen Cottage for something a bit less leg-busting (both routes about half an hour's drive). The site is also a few minutes’ amble from the Antur Stiniog mountain bike trails, with an uplift service that’s been tipped as the country’s best. Not enough adrenaline yet? The site is also a 10-minute stroll from Titan ZipWorld (to fly along two kilometres of zipline) and the underground adventure park in an old slate cavern at Bounce Below. Calm that heart rate a little by heading coastwards for a trip to pretty Portmeirion or a wander around the castle and beach in Harlech – both are about half an hour away by car.
