Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Beautiful site. Amazing setting. All areas extremely well kept. Lovely couple who run the site, very helpful and friendly. We actually stayed an extra night as we were enjoying our river view so much. Can't wait to return.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (riverside)

Liked: The setting by the river is just perfect, lovely walks directly from site. Local pub serving food and a local shop 15 minutes walk away. Lovely clean facilities block.
Riverside 1 and 2 plots or any grass pitches are ideal for children or dogs who like to play in the water. Very relaxing peaceful site in beautiful countryside. Only given 1 star for Wi-Fi as we weren't given the code to access it on arrival.

Disliked: Nothing.

From the manager: Sorry you were not given a Wi-Fi code on arrival, we wish you had told us when you were here then we would of given you one. Sorry about that.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: The location next to the stream was fantastic. The facilities where clean and central to the site. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The site is dog friendly and there is a beautiful walk that you can access directly from the site that runs alongside the stream. The site is a 5 minute drive from the local village which has a selection of shops and pubs. Chirk village is around a 10 minute drive and Llangollen took us around 20 minutes to drive to.

Disliked: None

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: Loved this campsite, friendly helpful owners, relaxed, friendly and clean. Plenty of space for pitches, and lovely setting next to the river. The river provided hours of entertainment for our teenage boys. Walks direct from the campsite, couple of pubs serving good food nearby. Will definitely return.

Electric grass tent, campervan or trailer tent pitch

Liked: This campsite is a hidden gem. We could not fault anything. From checking in and pitching up to packing away and heading home we had the best time. It rained pretty much the whole stay but that did not bother us! We pitched up by the little river and just chilled watching the world go by with the warmth of a camp fire. The facilities were great nice hot showers and cleaned throughout the day. It really was the perfect May half term break we needed. We visited the local national trust places and enjoyed the walk along the river. Can’t wait to return here in the near future.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (riverside)

Liked: A beautiful location, our campervan pitch was by the river which was fantastic. We walked part of the old tramway alongside the river towards Llanarmon which was enjoyable. The facilities were clean and the site owners were lovely. We shall return, hopefully in better weather!

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
