Around the site

  • Riverside park with Berwyn mountain views
  • A 20-minute drive from Llangollen; 25 minutes to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct
  • Close to the North Berwyn Way and the Dee Valley Way
Ceiriog Valley Park is down by the river Ceiriog, something that should already get it a huge tick in the box… And it's also near the Berwyn Mountains, with views of the sloping Welsh hills – consider more boxes ticked. The peaceful site is in the valley of Glyn Ceiriog, with an on-site heated amenities block where there's a small extra charge for showers. It's an excellent base for exploring North Wales, close to the walks of the North Berwyn Way and the Dee Valley Way. The area is popular for fishing, valley views and hikes or cycling routes of a spectacularly scenic nature. The town of Llangollen is a 20-minute drive away and has plenty of shops. Nearer by, just a 15-minute walk away from the site, is the village of Glyn Ceiriog, home to a pub, café and shop.

What customers say

A lovely, quiet spot by a river in a valley. Visitors rave about the welcoming owners, clean facilities (hot showers!), and great riverside sites perfect for water fun. Excellent for walks. Some had issues with weak phone signal and crowds in summer, but management handled things like dog control. Highly recommended!

Liked We had a fantastic stay at Ceiriog Valley Park. The campsite is peaceful, spacious and surrounded by beautiful scenery, with the river running alongside the site. It was the perfect place to relax and let our son enjoy the outdoors.
The pitches were well maintained with plenty of space, and the facilities were always clean. The location is ideal for exploring the local area too, we visited Chirk Aqueduct and spent hours paddling in the river, climbing rocks and even fossil hunting. It was lovely to be able to switch off and enjoy nature. We’d definitely recommend this campsite to families and anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway

Disliked Nothing at all. We genuinely couldn’t fault our stay and will definitely be returning

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
