Lovely place! Situated along a riverbank and we was so happy to be parked up for the night along the edge of a river. Very peaceful location in a lovely little village with a pub and a well stocked shop. Couldn't fault our stay at all.

Everything. Spotlessly clean facilities. We'll looked after grass and very level. Scenery was beautiful. There is a river walk from the site that's great to let the dog have a bit of freedom.
Being by the river is lovely and my 4 year old son loved throwing stones and paddling about.
Such a nice location that we are already looking at dates to go back.

This is our second stay here and we arent usually the type to stay anywhere more than once but we had to return. We parked our little campervan right on the riverbank so our dog was extremely happy he could splash around to his heart's content. The owners are lovely friendly people, really welcoming, chatty and helpful...but not too much, they arent overbearing at all, they have a lovely balance of presence. The area is stunning and we enjoy walking down the river from the site and up the hill next to the site and back down into Ceiriog Village. There is a nice pub there with a great beer garden and food. The village is in walking distance to the site but most of it along a road with no path, didnt bother us though and everybody drove past us respectfully so didnt feel at risk although i wouldnt fancy it at night.
The facilities on the site are great, loved the showers, very hot and powerful. Toilets always clean and with loo roll. There is also a washer and dryer for a small charge and a freezer for ice block which is free. There is also free wifi
Its such a peaceful site, we were allowed to have our firepit in use which we always enjoy as we like to see the stars at night and listen to the river flowing.

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen.

More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site.

Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
