  • Riverside park with Berwyn mountain views
  • Five miles from Llangollen
  • Close to the North Berwyn Way and the Dee Valley Way
Ceiriog Valley Park is down by the river, something that should already gets it a huge holiday tick… And it's also near the Berwyn mountains and so has Welsh mountain views, and is in a land filled with fishing, valley views and hikes of a spectacularly scenic nature – consider many more fave holiday features sorted. The site is in the valley of Glyn Ceiriog, close to the walks of the North Berwyn Way and the Dee Valley Way. It has a heated amenities block with a small extra charge for showers. The town of Llangollen is five miles away and has plenty of shops; a pub and supermarket are about 15 minutes' walk away and a community centre with tennis courts is close by.

Liked Lovely pitch on the riverside. Nice hot showers. Owners lovely helpful great site

Disliked Unfortunately washing machine out of order which I was relying on as been aware for over a week. Could do with designated pitch layout as not great others walking in front of your pitch ( costs more) to go in the river. Totally onboard with kids and dogs in the river ( we’ve 2 dogs) but there needs to be access for other campers to enjoy this without intruding on your pitch. A designated entry would be ideal.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
The riverside pitches don't cost more, all pitches are the same price except for EHU and non EHU. The issue you have raised can happen during busy periods, we have plans in place to put a designated path in on the field so that people can get to the river, there is another designated path to the river on the other side of the park.
The washing machine is being replaced, sorry it was out out of use when you were relying on using it.

Liked Beautiful setting, perfect for us & was all we hoped it would be along with being a well maintained, clean & tidy site. We were greeted with a warm & friendly welcome from the site owners who were always around if needed & never to busy to have a chat. We loved that it was quite & you felt safe. There were numerous areas to fill up on water, the area for recyling & disposing of rubbish was great & well thought out. Option of outdoor shower & inside. For cycling, walking & people who love the outdoors & natural beauty this is a stunning place to experience all, stepping back in time & escaping normality.

Disliked Our only gripe & it is small, we personally felt that as our time went on there that it became a bit packed in along the river bank. We enjoy our privacy & space.

Liked Facilities were nice and clean, lots of water points and good recycling facilities. Only one shower inside and two outside (but enclosed) showers. Site was was maintained and clean. There is a river walk on site but no other play areas, there is a river next to the site so might need to be careful with young children or crazy dogs. We had a lot of rain overnight so it was quite fast the next few days but it was fine. There is great play area in Glyn Ceiriog just up the road. We visited both Chirk Castle and Erddig during our stay. Would happily stay again. The wifi was a bit hit and miss location-wise but when good was fast enough to stream videos.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. Regarding the showers their are 5 in total which is sufficient for the size of the park however on a bank holiday weekend or a very busy weekend we are aware they can get busy.
We constantly look at ways of increasing the showers but planning issues are a problem, we will keep working at it. Thanks

Will definitely be coming bacn

Local attractions

If walking's your passion, this is the place for you, say the owners of Ceiriog Valley Park… The North Berwyn Way is for experienced or energetic hikers, covering 15 miles of waymarked route split into five sections; start at Llangollen if you want to tackle the full route. The Dee Valley Way is also waymarked over 15 miles and runs from Llangollen to Corwen. More energetic walks – and climbs – are around the Berwyn Mountains such as the hike around the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, but if you want to take things a tad more easily, take the steam train of the Llangollen Railway for the 10 miles between Llangollen and Corwen, or take a ride via a horse-drawn boat on Llangollen Canal, part of a World Heritage Site. Pony trekking and quad biking are also available in the area.
