  • Dog-friendly site on a working farm in Rhos on Sea
  • A 25-minute walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Llandudno
  • Surrounded by country walks and a short walk from pubs and a shop
Country walks, pub lunches and buckets full of beach trips… to list out every single thing you have to look forward to at Dinarth Hall Caravan and Camping would take some time, as this North Wales site is very conveniently based in the town of Rhos on Sea, 10 minutes’ drive from Llandudno and five minutes’ drive away from Colwyn Bay Beach. If you’re very much a countryside sort of person, it’ll be nice news that the site is on a working farm setting surrounded by fields and country walks with horses frequently passing by the site. There are just basic facilities, including toilets, showers, a washing-up area and a washing machine and dryer for laundry. There’s a lovely country pub just half an hour’s walk away for your supper or an American diner-style restaurant 10 minutes’ walk away in the other direction. If you’d rather sort yourself out, have a wander up the hill to the small shop 10 minutes’ walk away. The bus, which stops at the end of the road, comes just over every 10 minutes if you feeling like abandoning the car for the weekend. Not that you’ll need it that much if you’ve got beach days at the top of your agenda, because it’s only a 25-minute walk to Rhos on Sea beach and Colwyn Bay Beach is also within walking distance. If you’re driving to Colwyn Bay, there’s plenty of parking (and lots of ice cream vans to go with that). You may want to shift your watersports gear or bicycles down there, as there’s a cycling path along the front and often great conditions for some water activities.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Nice location

Disliked: Noisy on a night, poor facilities, toilet block very tidy, shower block the same. Luckily we used our own facilities. Laundry room had seen better days. Dog poo all over. Such a shame could be a lovely site with some investment.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Such a wonderful stay with my daughter who is 7 and my 15 year old dog. Easy site to navigate and was given the option of two fields to pitch in. We chose the one closest to the toilet block which was a 2 minute walk from our tent. Toilets and shower blocks were spotless! Absolutely no issues and there are charging places available at a charge of £1. Showers have hot water which was amazing after a night in a field or a day at the beach! We stayed for two nights and my daughter was begging to stay longer. Would have to say the best surprise was an ice cream van that comes around the whole site. It was out first time camping and we enjoyed every minute! Thank you for a lovely stay!

Disliked: Nothing.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Quiet site with friendly staff, hot showers and a tumbler drier after getting soaked hiking up Mount Snowden!

Disliked: A long walk to showers and toilets whoch could of done with an update.
Came back one evening to find another van parked right next to us (less than 2m) despite an empty field we had left our driveway awning up so it was obvious we were there!

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked: Friendly receptionist & reasonably flat hard standing site

Disliked: Although this is still a working farm the campsite needs to be updated as toilets & showers rather grim & quite old & outdated. Not a pleasure to use!! Electric charging was extra on the fee which made this tired site slightly more expensive than some immaculate, well cared for ones we have used, therefore we would not want to stay here again

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Friendly staff. Easy to get to our pitch. Family friendly. Local to days out.

Disliked: I think it would be great if camper vans are given pitch numbers, (told where to park) as when we stayed on the first night we was happy with outsource, but the following day we went for a day out and when we arrived back the pitch we stayed in was then taken.

Local attractions

Llandudno (10 minutes’ drive) is a cracking spot for a good wander, with shops, a pier, a promenade and a beach. You may spot a few goats wandering around the edge of town; they’ll have lost their way from Great Orme (20 minutes) just past Llandudno. The green limestone slopes of the Great Orme are not just for the goats, of course, with a tramway and a cable car providing access to the fab views from the 209-metre slope, a café or a playground. Back in Llandudno, get picked up by one of the open-top buses which run in summer from Llandudno Pier. They head over to stunning Conwy (10 minutes’ drive), past the spectacular 13th-century Conwy Castle, cobbled streets, bakeries and the cobbled streets typical of such a traditional Welsh port town.
