What customers say
This beautiful, natural campsite offers spacious, private pitches, many by the river, with stunning views. Guests praised the friendly, helpful hosts and the peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxing and enjoying nature. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are generally clean and well-maintained, though some noted their distance from pitches and a limited number. Proximity to Hay-on-Wye is a highlight. Occasional noise from nearby events and concerns regarding the owner's dogs were noted. Rubbish disposal is the responsibility of campers.

Great stay, huge pitches!
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Great site, toilets really clean although the hot water tap toilets are a little walk from pitch! Huge pitches, plenty of room and the site is on the river. We stayed 1 night for Hay festival and walked there in about 40 minutes via small county lanes.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The site is well maintained. Large pitches are nicely spaced out with beautiful views over the river. Very relaxing. Just outside of Hay town, it's a 30-40 minute walk but there is a nice quiet route through some back lanes. We stayed during the Hay festival and it was ideal. We will be back.

If you don’t mind rustic and love peace, then you’ll be ok.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked I particularly liked the large pitch which was mown in a circular area, with paths mown through towards the toilets. I also liked that the pitches aren’t in a uniform layout, meaning that it doesn’t feel regimented. I was quite a way from other vans and I felt totally at ease, no catching of others conversations, or having to avoid contact.
Having been at Hay Festival all week what I needed was tranquility and I got it here.
It’s a short walk to the river, which I did do - very picturesque.
Warm was warm in showers and though rustic they were cleaned regularly and smelled pleasant.
Owner friendly, but not over the top, a friendly wave, quick chat.
Campsite is signposted off the main road, down a farm track and through gates into a yard.
Owner tells me that she’s v conscious of security so property very secure, it certainly felt it.
At times it was hard to believe a busy literary festival was only a couple of miles down the road. I cycled round the back lanes to avoid the main road.
Disliked A few times people cut through my pitch to save a bit of time walking to the toilet. This definitely felt like an invasion of privacy.
Maybe a sign up asking people not to do this and stick to the main route would help prevent this.
It’s a bit scruffy (but you soon see past that), don’t make any judgement til you’ve settled in.

Best site I have been to
Bow Top gypsy caravan
Liked The separate pitches were tastefully done giving everyone their own private place.
The facilities were great, toilets at convenient places and very well functioning showers.
The river at the bottom of the hill was lovely also, icing on top of the cake
