A location close to the banks of the River Wye is a good start for Digeddi Wildlife Camping… Then add to that gorgeous river views, well-spaced pitches and pebble beaches where guests can watch the sunset, and you’ve got the recipe for quite the scrumptious stay. Also rather appetising is the fact that Digeddi Wildlife Camping is only a 45-minute walk from Hay-on-Wye, a town famed for its bookshops. There are canoe hire companies within five minutes’ drive of the site who will gladly organise a day’s river tour, ending at a pub for a pint and a snack in typical British fashion too. Whether you’re on a solo jaunt or on a family get-together, feel free to launch any water crafts from the designated point on site instead if you like. If the mountains are calling your name instead and pony trekking sounds like an ace way to experience them, just ask for the details at reception. As a family-run site, all of the team have a hand in maintenance, cleaning and welcoming guests (and they all have heads full of useful information too). The guests’ wellbeing is always at the front of their minds, of course. When it comes to practical matters, there are hot showers housed in a horse trailer on site and shops, pubs, cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, a cinema and a post office in Hay-on-Wye.

Bow Top 吉普赛大篷车

喜欢 Lovely peaceful site, a couple of minutes walk to the River Wye with a beach thats idea for canoeing,paddleboarding or swimming. Short drive into Hay on Wye.
Owner very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers were adequate.
Lovely relaxing listening to the owls by night.

不喜欢 Would be even better if there was electric in the bowtop or ehu on the pitches.

Sunset Paradise 钟型帐篷

喜欢 We stayed in the sunset bell tent for 3 nights and can't recommend this campsite enough! The tent had everything we could have needed and the set up was beautiful. All of the toilets and showers were super clean and well looked after and were close enough to the pitches that you didn't have to treck for ages but not too close either! (and a drinking water tap was near/on every pitch) The campsite itself is stunning with gorgeous views all around and there was very rarely any noise other than wildlife! The river access was an added bonus and was lovely to sit by in the evenings while the sun set. The location was ideal for what we wanted and did trips into Hay on Wye and to the 4 waterfalls trail near by which we would highly recommend.
Overall this was easily one of the best campsites we have ever been to and we had an amazing time!

喜欢 Lovely spot by the river. Friendly welcome. Nice hot showers.

不喜欢 No footpath to walk into Hay on Wye.

The toilets on the camping field needed emptying and there was no hand sanitizer or tap close by

喜欢 Very warm welcome . Lovely pitch setting right in front of the river so kids could kayak
Large open spaces for kids and grown ups to run around and play a few ball games
Good basic camp warm showers plenty of toilets dotted around (some portaloo) but over ones up at the top near the showers which were kept clean . It says a no music site but we had music on so did others as long as your mindful I’m sure it’s fine. Ie not late blaring . Lovely and quiet at night sound of the water was lovely to wake up too . My daughter loved going to visit and say hello to the onsite horses and goat . There is no electric on site and no bbqs or fires due to the restrictions but we used gas grill to cook .

不喜欢 Only 1 gripe which wasn’t to much of an issue but we had to take all of our rubbish with us as no onsite disposal bins for campers . Just after 2 nights and a family of 5 cooking and shopping etc you do start to accumulate a few bags quite quickly . But we took it home with us .

Whether you’re a hiker or biker, there should be a trail you fancy somewhere in the local area. Biking trails are plentiful upon Hay Bluff (15 minutes’ drive), or over at The Begwns (20 minutes), which has stunning views over the Brecon Beacons. The Black Mountains (around 20 minutes) are, of course, packed with trails of all sorts, but if you’re looking to cross off the famed Brecon Beacons walk of Pen y Fan (half an hour), it’s pretty easy to reach the big peak too. Activities-wise, you’re by no means limited to hiking and biking. Gorge walking, clay pigeon shooting, archery, caving, climbing and go-karting can be booked with the activity centre five minutes’ drive away. Throw some rowing, windsurfing or paddleboarding into the mix too. Any of these makes an excellent way to experience Llangorse Lake (20 minutes), a glacial lake that has the only crannog (artificial inhabited island) in Wales and England.
