A aimé Very warm welcome . Lovely pitch setting right in front of the river so kids could kayak
Large open spaces for kids and grown ups to run around and play a few ball games
Good basic camp warm showers plenty of toilets dotted around (some portaloo) but over ones up at the top near the showers which were kept clean . It says a no music site but we had music on so did others as long as your mindful I’m sure it’s fine. Ie not late blaring . Lovely and quiet at night sound of the water was lovely to wake up too . My daughter loved going to visit and say hello to the onsite horses and goat . There is no electric on site and no bbqs or fires due to the restrictions but we used gas grill to cook .

N'a pas aimé Only 1 gripe which wasn’t to much of an issue but we had to take all of our rubbish with us as no onsite disposal bins for campers . Just after 2 nights and a family of 5 cooking and shopping etc you do start to accumulate a few bags quite quickly . But we took it home with us .

A aimé It’s a fantastic campsite. I have been twice and a great time with my family and friends. The owner Sue is very friendly and welcoming. I will be back!

A aimé The location was lovely, with a beautiful walk to Hay on Wye and the campsite’s proximity to water for a refreshing dip in the river. The toilet and shower facilities were clean and sufficient.

Our four-person group had ample space and privacy. The stars at night were truly amazing!

N'a pas aimé Very rude owner, the entrance of the campsite near reception is very unsightly, lots of rubbish everywhere. The showers are awful, don’t stay warm and have no water pressure. The campsite is not as pictured, although we loved the river, it’s very overgrown and not as accessible as advertised. The owner takes you to your pitch and is rude when you ask to change pitch. The toilets smell very strong of cheap perfume. There are troffs of stagnant water on the campsite which attracts lots of flies. There were 2 people on very loud motorbikes on the campsite for hours at a time and lots of dogs not on a lead which was problematic for us as we have a nervous puppy. Could be a beautiful campsite if looked after properly. Very expensive for what you get.

I genuinely thought you liked the pitch I put you on ! Shame you left your tent pegs behind and I let you have some of mine !!! But I am RUDE !!
I take it you prefer the smell of Porto Loo or --- !!! ,than an air freshener to make your loo visit more enjoyable, we do try keep everything clean but you can't please all the people all the time !! Sorry about loose dogs , if you don't tell me this is happening I can't control the situation and I am sorry for that as it clearly states all dogs kept on leads at all times !! Very upset about you thinking my American barn is rubbish , my horses don't think so .
The Bikes its my land and my boys can ride their bikes on my land about 1/2 a mile away from any pitches, but the deal is they are not out more than 20 mins !! I can not control the bike track 1 mile away !!!
Showers your the very first person to complain about the showers so water of a ducks back lovely !!!!!Think my dear you need to go stay at Butlins it would suit you much better and I am rather pleased you won't recommend me and won't come back thats a relief !!!!! Adios Amigo !!! PS you spell Troff Trough !!!!! All The Best Sue-zi

Nearby countryside eg. Arthur’s Stone.

N'a pas aimé Too many dogs off leads (not the campsite’s fault)- we didn’t want to say hello
Proximity of other pitches with no hedge
Children being noisy late at night (not the campsite’s fault)
Long walks to toilets (maybe more paths through long grass could be made, eg by shepherds hut )
Initial impression seemed scruffy (though this improved once we had settled in)
