  • Family-run site under an hour’s drive from the Welsh coast
  • Mid-Wales countryside setting 20 minutes' drive from Machynlleth
  • Games room and playground on site
On your marks, get set, and CrinGOed to this friendly, family-orientated park sitting pretty in the mid-Wales countryside, under an hour’s drive away from the Welsh coast. A warm welcome from the Cringoed Caravan Park owners awaits: they've been working hard for over 15 years to perfect this family-run gem, leading to a well laid-out park set against spectacular woods. Comfort is the name of the game here: hot showers and electric hook-up is available, as are dishwashing facilities, a laundry, chemical disposal point and access to wifi. Kids have a play area and games room to keep them busy in weathers both fair and foul. Dogs are allowed all year round too, so be sure to bring the pooch along to take part in proceedings. For supplies, the village of Llanbrynmair (with its convenience store and homely pub) is a mile away, and the cafés, pubs and shops of Machynlleth are just over 20 minutes away by car.

What customers say

This is a highly recommended, peaceful, and exceptionally clean campsite set in a beautiful location. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and welcoming owners, the well-maintained facilities including spotless showers and toilets, and the lovely stream that children enjoy. The site is dog-friendly, with a dedicated exercise field and nearby river access. Pods offer a comfortable stay, and the glamping lodges are a basic but appreciated option. Some minor suggestions for improvement include adding more hooks in shower facilities and noting that the site is rural, requiring a drive for amenities. Manager replies indicate that issues raised have been addressed.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely, clean site in a quiet location perfect for a one-night stopover on the way into Wales. There isn’t much nearby, but it suited our needs for a peaceful stay.
Lovely play area and field.

Disliked The toilets could be a bit warmer, and there’s no motorhome waste disposal.
A few more lights on the way to the toilet block would also be a helpful improvement.

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked Nice nature environment within budget. Helpful lovely staff.

Disliked Grey water and chemical toilet disposal at the same point which is too distant from the pitches. Not central. Having at the same point does spread chemical contamination to grey water tank.

No heating in toilets.

From the manager: We had considered responding to this with a blank page as in reality sometimes it's best to say nothing.

However our guest deserves a response or rather we need to address the pathetic marking he felt it appropriate to publish.

So Here we go, Location, I mark you with a zero, why come here do your research first if your not happy with the location.

So customer service is lacking too, this guest was shown around the available pitches by riding on our golf buggy, A choice of three. Customer service marks are unacceptable,

One which he chose was the furthest away from the facilities. So the waste disposal was too far away, it takes less than 30 seconds from the pitch he chose, OUR RESPONSE IS..........! .

Having just one point of disposal has never been raised as an issue and has not changed in 20 years and proportionate to the number of pitches.

More negative comments the facilities lacked heating, it has been a really busy week-end with the heating on and off, yet when guests leave the door open it then becomes compromised. As a professional I'm pretty sure our guest doesn't need me to detail this or he really Common sense is lacking. In addition the facilities are cleaned every 2 hours during the day, so the marking here is again unacceptable.

Oh forgot to raise the lovely comment of budget campsite, 4 star rating Wales tourist board" Average 9.5 in 2025 Why come here if you want more, give yourself a zero.
In future constructive comments are always welcome, this review is personal and lacks truthful comments. We are still raising as a dispute !

Electric optional gravel touring pitch

Liked Lovely area, very quiet. Small number of touring pitches with plenty of space. Hard standing but with grass around. All nicely kept.

Disliked Shower and toilet block unheated, hand drier not working and no hot water in hand basins or in the washing up area. Toilet waste disposal blocked or full up.

From the manager: Our first guests of the year, what a pity they found it appropriate to express there concerns here in the form of a review.

Had they raised the issues of the hot water this could have been addressed straight away, 5 days later not a word. LIkewise had we been aware of the waste disposal this too would of been addressed and was the day after the review was posted.

As for the heating this is offensive, the heating is easily put on and was indeed particularly in the mens , but then our guest leaves the door open, wasting energy.. "Really"

We trust your guests at your wedding business have more constructive comments, and seek help if they do promptly rather than being negative after the event.
