General

  • Family-run site under an hour’s drive from the Welsh coast
  • Mid-Wales countryside setting 20 minutes' drive from Machynlleth
  • Games room and playground on site

On your marks, get set, and CrinGOed to this friendly, family-orientated park sitting pretty in the mid-Wales countryside, under an hour’s drive away from the Welsh coast.

A warm welcome from the Cringoed Caravan Park owners awaits: they've been working hard for over 15 years to perfect this family-run gem, leading to a well laid-out park set against spectacular woods. Comfort is the name of the game here: hot showers and electric hook-up is available, as are dishwashing facilities, a laundry, chemical disposal point and access to wifi.

Kids have a play area and games room to keep them busy in weathers both fair and foul. Dogs are allowed all year round too, so be sure to bring the pooch along to take part in proceedings.

For supplies, the village of Llanbrynmair (with its convenience store and homely pub) is a mile away, and the cafés, pubs and shops of Machynlleth are just over 20 minutes away by car.

Perfect location for a quiet weekend break. The pod was very comfortable and the site owners couldn’t have been more helpful.
The facilities on the site were really well kept and clean and the site itself is of a really high standard.
The location of the pods is lovely and relatively private with views towards the river. Parking is next to the pod and there was a shared BBQ should you want to use it.
Considering it was late September and a very wet weekend, the pod was cosy and warm and was well equipped with a kettle, microwave and background lighting. As with any camping trip, you are dictated to somewhat, by daylight hours. We had taken a camping lamp and together with the small LEDs in the pod, we had plenty of light for comfort and reading.
The small porch area of the pod mean that we could use our camping stove in relative shelter, out of the pouring rain!
    A really great weekend overall.

The setting and location is amazing. I was really impressed with how tranquil and quiet it was. The park itself was really well kept and everything was neat, clean and tidy.

I was completely in love with the Pod when we arrived and saw it for the first time. The Pod itself was really warm, and had been maintained nicely

    Disliked:

Purely as constructive criticism, it was a little offputting when calling at 8.10pm at night to be told "Well you are arriving a bit late aren't you". As the website say booking in is from 2pm - onwards. We had been out all day and it's an hour's drive to you in the first place.

When we got into the Pod itself, suffice to say that the lighting was near pointless. There are 6 x small LED's (2 x 3) in the ceiling, this is barely enough to even see what you are doing, let alone actually stay the night in the Pod and do anything at all.

The mattress itself was indeed (as others have said) very lumpy and we could feel the springs digging into us. Neither myself or my partner had a very good nights sleep because of it. A simple padded mattress protector would have done the trick.

We are genuinely looking to book to come back with our kids, we really liked the park and overall feel of the place.. but wont be able to sleep on a bed like that again.

Hopefully these little things can be corrected or improved and it will be perfect :)

Also - i have a very modern phone and Wifi was not even 1 bar at the Pod, so i didnt bother trying to use it. Shame as we really needed it.

From the manager...

Hello Nick,

Thank you for your positive response about our park!

I must admit your comments re about the time of arrival was a huge concern, we have guests arriving at all hours, many of which notify us if they will be arriving in the evening. For sure if you were offended by a comment it was in no way meant to be as such !

Referring to the lights, it is something we are looking to improve, but in all sincerity it has never stopped many people returning regularly. Off course this does become an issue the later people arrive.

Re the mattress, It has been mentioned just once before this year, and as both our pods are booked up most week-ends if they were of poor quality I'm pretty sure we would know about it. The previous negative comment was negative about everything not just here but the whole area. For the record we replace the mattresses each year and we are most particular in the quality as such. Regardless we will give this serious consideration.

Re wifi,
We have spent a considerable amount over many years on this, too many guests it's most important as such they would use their own personal data. As you commented on the lovely aspect of our park, you would have noticed the density of the trees, which no technology will overcome without huge antennas. If you did need to acquire info urgently had you asked the question we could have directed you to a point on the park were the service is more likely.

Sincerely hope you will stay with us again in the future.

Even though it was a large caravan park the landscaping was fantastic so you felt like you were staying in a small secluded area. Lots of trees, immaculate grass areas, great kids play area. The owner was really friendly and helpful and the facilities were first class. The pod even had a shared bbq area.

Everything. Pitches are spacious, facilities are clean and tidy, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer available, whole site is really well kept and the surrounding area is beautiful.
The owners were friendly and helpful and offered an extension cable for our electric hook up without us needing to ask.
One night they had a pipe burst in the facilities block and a static caravan was opened up for use by campers needing toilets etc.....brilliant customer service.
