Trossachs Holiday Park: Entrance to the park

General

  • Peaceful family park surrounded by lochs, glens, mountains and forests
  • On the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park
  • Oak and bluebell wood, adventure playground, games room and shop

What a Stirling stunner. Covering a whopping 40 acres of landscaped grounds, Trossachs Holiday Park is a peaceful family site on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, surrounded by woodlands, mountains, lochs and glens. Outdoor activities are all around here; it's under half an hour's drive to castles, whisky tours and loch boat trips, and the nightlife and restaurants of Glasgow are under an hour away: truly, you could lodge yourself at Trossachs for months.

Former guests have lauded the friendly welcome, stunning location and spotless and plentiful facilities at Trossachs as well as its proximity to outdoor pastimes: walking, cycling, mountain biking, birdwatching, nature photography, fishing and golf are all in the region. Even closer to home, an oak and bluebell wood is within the grounds of the site for woodland walks, nature trails and gentle bike rides.

Trossachs is an award-winning park, with an environment carefully managed and maintained as a scenic setting and one friendly to local wildlife. There's an adventure playground for your own mini adventurers, and heaps of space all around for play and general letting off steam. A games room and wifi café are indoors for less clement days.

The immaculate amenities include two family shower suites; a bathroom block with toilets, washbasins and hot showers; a washing-up area and a launderette.

Even dogs are made most welcome here: they have their own enclosed pooch exercise area around the grounds.

Lovely toilets and spotless pitches. Great having a tap and electric hook up right beside the tent.
Kids enjoyed the play park and wee walks near site.
We enjoyed exploring Loch Lomond and Mugduck Country Park.
Only downside was our pitches were on a slope so we slid off our mattresses at night.
I would ask if going again for a flat pitch near the play park.

    Disliked:

Not so much a dislike, more of an inconvenience. When we arrived, there weren't many caravans/MHs in our row and all electric appliances were fine. As the day went on and the row filled up our fridge freezer cut out and we had to run it on gas. Mentioned it to reception so hopefully they will address the issue

All facilities were availible on site such as showers, toilets, laundrette and chemical toilet waste area along with water refil point. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival.

    Disliked:

Getting the camper into the toilet chemical space was slightly awkward and the pitch wasn't quite level but only minor issues. We still had a great stay and these issues barely effected the stay.

Local attractions

A bluebell wood, nature trails and stunning scenery are right on site for leisurely days, and you can mountain bike over Duke's Pass or go fishing, bouldering and horse riding at Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park less than half a mile away.

More fishing (for salmon, sea trout, brown and rainbow trout, pike, perch, roach, chub and dace) is at Loch Lomond two miles from Trossachs. For hikes, amble the short trails and stop off for lakeside picnics at the Three Loch forest drive, six miles from the site, or combine walks with wildlife with a pootle around Blair Drummond Safari Park within half an hour's drive.

For a very Scottish flavour of hol, have whisky tasting and a tour around Glengoyne Distillery, 10 minutes' drive away, take a tour of Stirling Castle and the National Wallace Monument (35 minutes) or take a boat trip to Inchmahome Priory on the Lake of Menteith, reachable within 10 minutes.

Must see

  • Loch Lomond Park Centre (9.1 miles)
  • Stirling Castle (15.8 miles)
  • Royal Burgh of Stirling Visitor Centre (16.2 miles)
