What customers say

This campsite offers a stunning location with breathtaking views of Ben Nevis and is conveniently located near Fort William. Guests frequently praise the immaculate and modern facilities, particularly the shower blocks. Staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The spacious pitches and peaceful atmosphere are also highlighted as major positives. While most experiences are positive, a few minor issues were noted regarding shower water pressure, occasional noise, and the need for more dishwashing facilities during peak times.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Easy to get to and set in a great location. The facilities were excellent, particularly the shower block, which was clean, heated, and well maintained. The waterfall shower was a real highlight.

The only downside was that the water only stayed on for around 10 seconds at a time. Aside from that, a really enjoyable stay.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The views were stunning.

Disliked The site itself was busy, the shop had very limited produce - nothing like fresh bread etc. Amenities not as good as other sites we had used yet this was the most expensive.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Spacious pitch, however was right next to the bins. Email stated check in was until 10pm, however arriving at 5.30 and found my key in a box for collection. Pitch was steeply slanted. Staff returned to site and provided chocks which was greatly appreciated. Facilities good, however showers were scalding hot and kids struggled to stay under the water.

Disliked Pitch not flat. Showers too hot for kids- even I had to duck out a few times as it felt scalding. A few others struggled with this too.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked flat pitches with fab views. Lovely warm shower block with great showers and facilities. Loved the chickens. Cycling distance to various activities.

Disliked The lady who checked me in couldn’t get me out of reception fast enough.

I asked for advice on how to get into town for the cinema (taxi or drive motorhome) and she told me to park in a specific car park or Lidl car park - but one car park didn’t let MH park there at all (we then struggled to turn around as it was one way back out) and the other car park didn’t permit a MH after 9pm.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Location and good toilet and shower facilities.

Disliked Site and touring pitches all waterlogged after rain with inadequate drainage and some pitches small in size.
Toilet cleaning times need changing from 9am as peak time.
Motorhome discharge point tight and fresh water point poorly located and tap to low and combined with grey water waste point.
Chickens roaming.

Local attractions

The owners reckon there’s something for everyone around this site, but walkers and cyclists are especially sorted when it comes to activities. If you’re up for a trek, challenge yourself to one of the trails up Ben Nevis, getting intel on which ones to tackle at the mountain range’s visitor centre, just over five minutes’ drive away. If you’re after a lazier lope, amble along the Caledonian Canal from the locks at Neptune's Staircase (25 minutes’ walk) or get your RDA of exercise by nipping in and out of the shops of Fort William (five minutes’ drive). The town has plenty of stores selling mountaineering kit if you need equipment to try out the more intense pursuits – think skiing and downhill biking – available in the area. For a family day out, make your way to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (25 minutes’ drive) and see if the kids recognise it from the Harry Potter films – the Hogwarts Express was filmed crossing this oh-so-scenic bridge. Saving perhaps the best activity till last, top off your trip by paying a visit to the whisky makers at the Ben Nevis Distillery (15 minutes’ walk) for a few drams of one of Scotland’s finest exports.
