Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Flat ground to pitch
Disliked People taking at 4am (shouted at by other campers to shut the fuck up). People turning up at midnight pitching tents with no approval clearly. Showers that stay on for 8 seconds at a time… I mean, 8 seconds?! Couldn’t we stretch to 30, enough time to lather up just about?!

Liked Absolutely everything,
Very clean site 👌
Perfect location, close to the town and shops.
Not so far from Ben Nevis mountain and other hiking places, we will be back again.
Disliked This may not be the campsites fault, but there is a rule saying quiet hours are at 11pm. For a few nights, there were people being really loud until about 3am, we told the campsite about the people and they didn't do anything.
We travel a lot and stay at a lot of different campsites, but this is the first place where the quiet hours were treated as if they were optional.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Camp grounds are excellent. Tent pitches were great, ground level and easy to erect tent. The views were incredible.
Disliked At times the bathrooms were dirty, ie there was faeces on the floor in one cubicle, but that’s on the users not the staff

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Great location for views of Ben Nevis. We stayed at a non-electric pitch which was great right beside the river which our dog loved. Toilet and shower facilities were clean. Didn’t use the cafe on site but will definitely return to this site
Disliked We usually go camping with electric hook up but didn’t this trip. We did notice u can’t park your car beside your tent when at the electric hook up area. If people r anything like us, that would be a nightmare unpacking the car and repacking the car.

What customers say
A well-maintained site with friendly staff offering spectacular views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding area. Facilities are generally clean and modern, with popular pizza service and roaming chickens. The riverside location provides lovely walks. Some visitors found pitches cramped, showers too short-running, and Wi-Fi unreliable. Noise and occasional cleaning issues were noted.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Nice views. Liked the free roaming chickens. Nice little cafe attached. Shower block was clean and people left their left over soap / conditioner etc. Would have liked a hair dryer
Normally travel with my 3 kids, wouldnt say the site was suitable for my kids who like to cycle round. Too many cars coming and going and small roads. Because of this. Unlikely I would return and can't recommend to any of my friends as all have active children.
Free Wifi on site (not guaranteed a signal, but we had one)
Disliked Paid for an awning but was given a plot with lots of concrete under the stones (plot 1) so had to have my rooftent awning flapping about in places and pin it down with boxes on the inside. Pitch was too small for a camper van with awning. Didn't bother to raise this as the rain had started when tentbox was pitched and awning on. So would have been more hassle calling and waiting to be moved.
Not the sites fault, but had a late arrival on the pitch next to us that were very loud. Very annoying.
Price is steep. Plenty other sites with the same or more facilities at half the price. Guess it's just because it's Fortwilliam.
Been bombarded with emails looking for a review. One should be enough.
Cafe doesn't do hot drinks in the evening and has a very limited menu. OK for me as we ordered the last two pizzas. Very long wait for them - 1 5 hours. Not an issue for me - but quite a few people in after us unable to get food.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The staff were kind and welcoming, the views were stunning and the restaurant was decent for a campsite. There was a playground for the kiddies and the river walk was beautiful. Peter's taxis came in very handy. Great service from them too. The chickens!!!
Disliked The camper pitches were too varied. It was hard not to be envious of the pitches that had large hedges giving them their own space when we were shoved in the entrance to some open gravel pitches with a dodgy electric hook-up and no privacy due to the onlooking statics.
The guests were very loud at night and left the toilets/showers in a right state. When I went for my shower there were beer cans and cocktail cans strewn across the sinks and all but one of the toilets was blocked with toilet paper and poo.
I think some more signage around the park might be helpful and a toilet attendant might be necessary if guests are treating it like this regularly.
