If you are looking at caravan and camping holidays in Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway Kings Green is in a great location! Peaceful, relaxed and central to the best of Galloway’s attractions. Our lovely coastal site is owned and run by the community of Port William, overseen by a volunteer committee and staffed by seasonal wardens. Port William, Wigtownshire is a thriving rural village with a great community spirit and an enormous amount of activities and volunteering going on. In fact, the village recently won a ‘Calor Village Of The Year’ award for exactly these reasons. The Village runs an Inshore Rescue Service, a medical First Responders service and a Carnival Week in August just to name a few! This general theme carries through to the camping and caravan park. Kings Green has a long and colourful history of use, dating back to 1949. There have been many events, campsites, circus and festivals over the years. A full history will be added to this website in the near future. It has been looked after by the Port William Community Association (SCIO) on behalf of the village for that entire period. The site is open from March to October for tourers and tents, there are no static caravans on site. We are an all grass site situated right on the shores of Luce Bay with spectacular views to the West across to the Mull & Rhins of Galloway. On a clear day the Mountains of Mourne in Ireland are also visible and to the South lies the Isle of Man. We have 30 pitches – 21 with electric hook up and 9 without. We welcome all tourers in caravans, motor homes or with tents. Everyone is welcome, even well behaved pets and we have no midges!
