  • Quiet family-run holiday park on the edge of Newton Stewart
  • Galloway Forest Park five minutes' drive; Wigtown 15 minutes
  • Dog-friendly site next to National Cycle Route 7
This is a fantastic location for a Dumfries and Galloway break – Creebridge Caravan Park is on the edge of Newton Stewart, about five minutes' walk from the town centre. That means it’s handily located for shops, restaurants and takeaways (plus a cinema for an evening at the movies) , but it's also in a peaceful spot with lots of mature trees and other greenery on site. The focus here is on quiet nature rather than lively holidays – families are very welcome, and there's a play area for the kids, but this isn't a place that has noisy entertainments and extensive facilities. Guests are encouraged to slow down a little at this family-run park, but there's certainly plenty to do in the local area. Pack your bikes if you can, because the park is right next to National Cycle Route 7 and within easy reach of the 7Stanes mountain bike trails at Kirrochtree and Glentrool. Golfers, walkers and birdwatchers are well catered for nearby too, and it's only a five-minute drive to the Galloway Forest Park, designated an International Dark Skies Reserve for its excellent stargazing. Creebridge is a family-run park that prides itself on a warm welcome for all guests – and that includes dogs, who can join your breaks here as long as they're kept on a lead and supervised while on site.

What customers say

This is a quiet site with friendly staff and clean facilities, offering convenient access to the town centre and a nearby park. While some guests found the pitches cramped, particularly for motorhomes, and noted the lack of disabled facilities and a grey waste disposal point, others appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and Wi-Fi. The site is considered more suited to static caravans than touring vehicles.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked A quiet site, within walking distance of the town center, and close to large grassy park , convenient for dog walking.

Disliked The proximity of other vans both static and tourers. Felt a bit "squished"

Liked Site was good, peaceful, and clean. The only problem was they had no where for us to tip our grey waste water from the motor home tank.

Electric optional grass tent pitch

Liked Sadly, nothing; I decided not to stay here.

Disliked The 'pitch' was sandwiched between the owner's house (parked at the fence) and a children's play park (about 2 meters away). The 'campsite' is essentially a caravan park with a very small piece of grass for tents/campers. Not for me; I went elsewhere.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Close to town and nice friendly owner

Disliked Not suited for motorhomes, we were cited between two statics on the grass, then another motorhome was cited in front of us, then tents and campervans were added almost on top of the kiddies swing park. Had I wanted to drive out for the day I would not have been able to because of the campers and tents etc etc.
There was no disabled facilities and no waste water drop drain. The grey painted floors in the showers stuck to the soles of my feet.
More suited for statics.
