What customers say

This immaculately kept, peaceful site within a beautiful walled garden offers spacious pitches and free access to Paxton House grounds. Guests praise the tranquility, abundant walks, and convenient location near Berwick. While many facilities are excellent, some reviewers note the toilet and shower block is limited, particularly when busy. The site is highly recommended for its stunning setting and relaxing atmosphere.

Liked Pitches flat
Nice location
Do have 2 toilets and 2 showers but we're dirty from other guests.

Disliked Group on site making too much noise, kids kicking footballs about and screeching till gone 12am.
5 vans all together.
As this site is in a walled garden, sounds bounces about so one noisey unit everyone can here them.
No one to check in with.
No commincation at all.
Never given pitch number.

Liked Absolutely stunning site. Massive clean pitches, lovely walled camping area, lovely walks through the gardens.
It says on the description no on site toilet or showers but there are 2 of each so don’t let that put you off.
Yes it’s £32 a night but I think it’s worth it.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Fabulous little site within beautiful grounds.
Very peaceful site, really easy check in on arrival with choice of any available pitch.
Couple of showers and toilets which is great if you don’t have your own facilities.
So much to explore on the grounds, we barely scratched the surface. Lovely little cafe on site.
Can not recommend enough, will definitely return.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Very scenic and tidy. Good level pitches and a good size too. Loved being in the walled garden. Facilities were good and handy. We used our own shower though. Good walks on the estate and nice walk along the river Tweed to the Honey farm for lunch.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

History is never far away in these parts, and the glimpses you’ll get of Lindisfarne half an hour's drive away will doubtless lure you out during your stay. Wild and peaceful, the ruins of the priory and the castle point to the long and turbulent human past of the place while the colonies of puffins and waders carry on regardless. Check tide times if heading out by car; boat trips to and round make a leisurely way to visit with seal and puffin spotting possibilities en route. There are many more castles to peruse, if that’s your penchant: Bamburgh, still occupied but open to visitors, is half an hour’s drive away. Despite being 700 years old, Alnwick (45 minutes) is also still home to the descendants of its original owners and a must-see for JK Rowling fans as the film location for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The little villages of Beadnell and Seahouses (45 minutes away) form the gateway to the Northumbria Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a sea-hugging zone stuffed with chances to go rockpooling and paddleboarding, plus coastal paths and bike trails as well as a haven for wildflowers and (yes, really) wild cattle. Half an hour’s drive gets you to the edge of Northumbria National Park, packed with Roman remains, climbing in the Cheviot Hills and paths around Kielder Water. Further afield, the museums, culture, lively pubs and (of course) the castle of Edinburgh are very doable for a day trip, an hour and 20 minutes away.
