Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite

Liked Beautiful site with lovely friendly staff. Malcolm is a lovely guy.
The site has lots of vending machines, offering milk, milkshakes, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh coffee and a brilliant machine that dispenses pizza. Absolutely fabulous.
If you have a dog, there are Great dog walks/field/public footpath from site over the fields.
There is a cafe across the road that does a fantastic breakfast and lunches which is attached to a great farm shop
Pub just down the road for great pub food. Friendly staff Also dog friendly
Will definitely go back to this site when we come down to Weymouth. There is a bus stop outside the site but having a car/ tow car with you is a help to get around Dorset.

Liked We booked for one night and so loved the site so stayed for two. Site is extremely clean in all areas. It has excellent facilities for the serviced pitches, vending machines offer a choice of treats and essentials. The pizza unit worked a treat. The site benefits from its own lovely dog walking area with picnic tables if you need a breather. There is also a public footpath alongside the site with stunning views and choice of routes. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There is a nice cafe across the road also a pub.Finally the shower and toilet block was so clean, warm and brilliant showers. We will be back, loved it.

Liked The site was clean, tidy, and maintained, which made for a pleasant visit.

The children’s play area could benefit from some modernisation, as it was quite basic and didn’t keep our kids entertained for very long.

Disliked Personally, we wouldn’t return. It didn’t feel particularly family-oriented, although I appreciate the site can’t control who chooses to stay there. During our visit, many of the people around us seemed to prefer a very quiet, adult-focused atmosphere and didn’t appear especially welcoming towards children.

The site also felt quite crowded and a little cramped in places, and we didn’t feel it offered great value for the price charged.

The campsite is very child friendly with a small basic play park and a very large field for picnics and playing ballgames. The number of children that come in differ each week with some weeks having lots and others less. Wishing your family a great summer camping.

Liked Fantastic campsite and well located between Bridport and Weymouth. Our pitch was a good size and flat. Electrical provision was consistent. The booking process was easy and arrival was prompt with little fuss. Very tidy and clean site. Toilets and showers were well serviced. A fantastic range of vending machine with quality food items available.

Liked Great site - we had one of the larger pitches for a campervan with a large awning for 4 adults. Our pitch had an electric hook up, water supply, grey waste and TV connection. All the facilities look brand new and were more than adequate. There’s a bus stop right outside, which will take you most places that you would want to go - Abbotsbury is just one stop away. There’s also a pub and farm shop (with a cafe) right across the road. Onsite has vending machines and a small kiosk selling ice cream. Customer service was excellent when I had change to a bigger pitch.

Disliked Unfortunately the pizza vending machine was not working whist we were there - I really wanted to try that. The site is “open plan” - there’s no fencing or hedges separating pitches. This didn’t really worry us, but it might be an issue for others. With a full site, there might be issues with over crowding of some facilities.

The site is easy to find and plenty of top up/essential items on tap at the vending machines. Definitely recommend the freshly squeezed orange juice.

Liked Plenty of space for the pitches, best showers and toilets I've found on a campsite, friendly helpful staff.

Disliked Nothing to note, pub down the road little expensive and not much choice, but that's nothing to do with the actual campsite

Liked We love everything about this site and visit often! Exceptional showers and toilets, the whole site is spotless, very friendly staff always willing to help, close to lots of attractions with a bus stop just outside and also a great pub just up the road! The vending maxhinea are great to and my son particularly loves the milkshakes and ice cream! We will be back in a few weeks time!
