What customers say

This small, friendly campsite offers beautiful views and a welcoming family atmosphere, with animals on site. Guests praised its excellent location for exploring local beaches and towns, as well as the basic but clean eco-friendly facilities, including a bucket shower. While some found the ground rocky and pegs difficult to insert, and wished for an additional toilet, the overall experience was highly positive, with good value for money and a quiet, enjoyable stay.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We had a fantastic time at Newhaye Farm. Eona was lovely, and invited my children to see her horses (which they fell in love with), plus they loved her singular chicken which roamed around.
The campsite itself was perfectly calm and peaceful (apart from the motorbikes which zoomed past occasionally on the nearby road), and it was a great location to visit Lyme Regis, Seaton plus a lovely walk to Musbury Castle (which you can see from the campsite - just a hill rather than an actual castle, but the view was fantastic).

Disliked Toilet was basic (although not the worse campsite toilet we've had to use by any means). Could probably have done with another one if there were many more people on the site.
Ground was very flint, as mentioned by other people. Fortunately, we've encountered stony campsites before, so came equipped with heavy duty tent pegs, so no problem. However, probably good to check the ground where you pitch, as there were one or two sharp stones which ended up under the tent, and caused a bit of pain when walking or kneeling inside.

Non-electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Just back from a lovely 7 night stay. Stunning views and back to basics camping. Our little granddaughter loved her time here playing safely with the other children. We really couldn't ask for anymore as anything we enquired about was sorted.
Hopefully we'll be back in the future.

Disliked Make sure you take rock pegs. But we didn't find it a problem as we'd got a good hammer.

Liked This was the most beautiful campsite with really friendly hosts. The pitches were flat with an amazing view. There are so many things to do nearby, we wished we could have stayed longer.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely little site. The owner is very friendly and always willing to help. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife, including horses and two fun loving dogs who will want you to play with them, very good with children. Compost toilet was very clean and emptied regularly, as well as the option to use another toilet at the house if needed. Didn't try the shower so couldn't comment, saw people using it though. Had a lovely fire pit in the evening which was allowed and paving slabs provided to protect the grass. All essentials covered at this site and owner works very hard to make sure you have a lovely stay, thoroughly recommend.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Very small campsite, good facilities but were basic, just what you need for almost wild camping. Hosts were lovely and gave very clear directions so you couldn’t get lost

Disliked Very rocky in the ground, most people I spoke to there had problems getting pegs into the ground because of the rocks. This meant when it did become rainy and windy we were unable to stay

Local attractions

You're unlikely to run out of things to do around here – for starters, Lyme Regis (10 minutes’ drive) has beaches, fossil foraging, Dinosaurland Fossil Museum, scenic walks along The Cobb, a small aquarium featuring local marine wildlife, rib tours along the Jurassic Coast from the harbour… in short, plenty to keep the kids amused all day. Other family days out could be spent meeting alpacas, lemurs and meerkats at Axe Valley Wildlife Park (10 minutes), or cuddling adorable animals at The Donkey Sanctuary (45 minutes). There are model railways to inspect at Pecorama (15 minutes), where younger kids can try out mini-train rides around the grounds, and the whole family can climb aboard an open-topped vintage tram for a jaunt through Devon countryside on Seaton Tramway (10 minutes). If a little more activity is called for, the kids can scale climbing walls and rope courses at Seal’s Cove Adventure Centre (half an hour), while more adventurous souls have a go on the zipwires zooming over woodland at Tunnel Tree Tops (15 minutes).
