Sitting on the border of rural Devon and Dorset, Newhaye Farm is a peaceful hilltop site with glorious views over the village of Combpyne to Musbury and Axminster. This family-run spot is also close to Jurassic Coast beaches and the South West Coast Path (both 10 minutes’ drive), but with none of the crowds associated with sites closer to the sea. Entrance to the level camping field is down a farm track; cars can be parked in the parking field, leaving a safe space around the pitches for kids to race around. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and you can walk them on the bridlepath that skirts the site. Facilities cover the essentials, with three flushing loos in a wooden hut, plus an outdoor shower area with one hot electric shower and a cold-water bucket shower – making it more comfortable to camp outdoors, cook on a barbecue and spend quality time with family and friends. Just remember to bring torches and batteries for finding your way around after dark.

Em va agradar Beautiful location, tucked away, all the amenities you could ask for, toilet and a shower.

View is lovely, set up is very relaxed, feel very lucky to have found newhaye farm! Absolutely plan to be back again.


Eona is clearly passionate and has set this up for all the right reasons, we got to see her each day on her walk arounds and stopped for a chat each time which was great to get to know her and Luna her doggo.

Thank you for a much needed getaway, can't wait to come back with the family.

Em va agradar Picked this campsite for its almost wild camping vibe. The owner is a lovely lady too.
Its so peaceful and relaxing, really enjoyed my stay here for last few days whilst exploring the surroundings.
Epic sunrise over the hills of Devon, if you like bird watching there's several to watch for, really enjoyed seeing the Red Kite(bird of prey) soaring above on a near daily basis.
There's a shower, flushing toilet and a washing up sink for your bits and bobs.
Plenty to see in the surrounding area. Beer is a stunning place and great day out. If u like to fish theres plenty of wrasse and other species that can b caught of sea walls at lyme regis too.

Em va agradar A very beautiful place to spend the night. We could pitch up where we liked and choose the view!
Nice to have flushing loo and they were clean.
Easy to check in just called Eona when we arrived and very uncomplicated.
No frills, no fuss just how we like it! We will be back!

No em va agradar The tap needs a bit of attention. Tricky to use at the moment and I would suggest at least two taps- one for hand washing and one for drinking/ washing up.

Em va agradar Everything, quirky showers but wonderful on a hot summers night never felt so refreshed, fantastic hosts, a site still in its infancy but so quiet and peaceful, it’s just a field but one so different that it has to be tried to experience the owners enthusiasm for it.

You're unlikely to run out of things to do around here – for starters, Lyme Regis (10 minutes’ drive) has beaches, fossil foraging, Dinosaurland Fossil Museum, scenic walks along The Cobb, a small aquarium featuring local marine wildlife, rib tours along the Jurassic Coast from the harbour… in short, plenty to keep the kids amused all day. Other family days out could be spent cuddling adorable animals at The Donkey Sanctuary (45 minutes) or inspecting the model railways at Pecorama (15 minutes), where younger kids can try out mini-train rides around the grounds. The whole family can also climb aboard an open-topped vintage tram for a jaunt through Devon countryside on Seaton Tramway (10 minutes). If a little more activity is called for, the kids can scale climbing walls and rope courses at Seal’s Cove Adventure Centre (half an hour), while more adventurous souls have a go on the zipwires zooming over woodland at Tunnel Tree Tops (15 minutes).
