What customers say
This is a friendly, clean, and well-maintained campsite in a beautiful rural location, attached to a pub offering delicious food. Visitors highlight the excellent facilities, particularly the modern and clean toilets and showers. The site is exceptionally child-friendly, with a play bus, mini golf, goats, and other activities keeping children entertained. Dog owners also find it very welcoming. While generally quiet, occasional noise from the pub or other campers has been noted, along with some instances of wet or slippery pathways. Firewood is considered expensive by some. Access to the pub and its amenities was limited for one group due to a wedding.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Location. Owners helpful. Clean toilets. Clean showers. Not too many tents. Lots for the children to do. Firepits available. Activities offered.
Disliked 10-00 pm curfew not adhered to. One large group were talking very loudly and laughing well after this time making it impossible to get our grandchildren asleep. Family in tent next to us were getting very annoyed also. Firewood was the most expensive firewood we have ever bought on a campsite and we are regular campers all over the country. It was ridiculous. It fitted in a tiny tray !!! The pub was great to have nearby with friendly and helpful staff but the menu was a major letdown with a limited menu which was a shame. The food we had was lovely but would have liked more choice. Dogs barking was annoying too and dogs on leads walking around the back of our tent we were not keen on. But a lovely site

This was our second visit at this campsite. It was ok. Might return.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked - nice campsite in a lovely area
- pub on site
- clean toilets with tp/soap topped up frequently
- activities for children even in poor weather - bus / sheltered ping pong
Disliked - due to a wedding event organised on site, our access to the bar and marquee was limited/unavailable and we felt like we were intruding on the wedding party by being there
- decking area and steps outside toilets were very slippery after a rainy night, there was no signage or attempt to remove standing water and my husband slipped and fell on the stairs bruising his back and ribs - luckily there was no serious damage as far as we're aware, but it could have ended in a hospital
- some staff were very tense and 'militant'

Very pretty site, quiet and fun for kids
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Very pretty site with lots of activities especially for kids. The best one for my daughters was the playbus but there's also minigolf, ping pong and occasionally archery and axe throwing. The site is behind a pub which was handy. Despite being behind a pub, it is still very quiet and by 10pm there was barely any noise in the campsite.
There was live music in the garden the weekend we were there which was really fun, we had a really lovely time.
I definitely want to come back
Disliked The toilets could be attended a bit more often. For example a couple of times the toilet paper was missing and one of the toilet seats was broken. Nothing major though and generally the facilities were clean.
Also, the pub closing times could be communicated a bit better.

Lovely pub, good food, great play bus for children, good pitches
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Lovely venue and nice food offering. Staff were very attentive and the children loved the playbus!
Disliked Didn’t know when booking that there was a wedding on, so it was disappointing that we paid the same amount but couldn’t use the communal areas (especially needed in the rain) and there was no summer wood fire pizza like it was advertised on pitch up (I assume due to the wedding) just one of those things but disappointing as we were a big group that then couldn’t spend time with each other anywhere dry. We were welcome to stay in the pub after dinner but felt like we were encroaching on someone’s special day - no malice towards the pub was just the timing and the unfortunate weather that exacerbated it

From the manager: Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and would visit again
Obviously a bit disappointed by the score you gave us.
We wanted to reply as felt your review was a bit misleading for other readers. As a large pub with five acres we often have people celebrating special occasions in areas of our facilities. We are lucky that we have lots of space. The small wedding during your stay had use of our marquee - the rest of the pub was operating as normal and you were welcome to come in to the pub throughout your stay. The weather was poor across the weekend and most of the campers were inside with us for long periods dodging the rain!
Cooking pizzas in the garden is obviously weather dependent!
