Monkton Wyld Farm offers idyllic Camping and Caravanning in West Dorset and straddles the Dorset/Devon border, three miles from the coastal village of Charmouth and the historic harbour town of Lyme Regis, centre of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. Monkton Wyld Touring Park exudes a special character, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We began welcoming visitors in 1991 and since those early days the park has flourished into a wonderful location to base your visit to West Dorset. The park lies in 25 acres of beautifully landscaped and carefully maintained grounds; over the last 17 years we have focused on ensuring that the park complements the rich landscape of the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Shrubs, trees and flowers abound while mature oaks spread across surrounding farmland that forms the rolling countryside. We have also enhanced the site by the careful planting of native woodland to divide the grounds into several separate small paddocks which add to the general atmosphere of peace and quiet.

Local attractions

The coastal towns of Charmouth and Lyme Regis which have a great deal of charm, are only a few minutes away. Lyme Regis has a maze of little streets leading down to the ancient harbour, known as The Cobb. The Cobb has existed scince the 13th century and has a long history as a trading port. Today the Cobb is used by fishing boats and pleasure craft alike and although seperate from the main town it remains the focal point of Lyme Regis. Axminster is also a very short drive from Monkton Wyld, including River Cottage HQ Park Farm. Hugh-Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage HQ is a 17th century farmhouse which overlooks the Axe Valley, with specially converted barns and 66 acres of farm land with pigs, sheep, cattle and an amazing kitchen garden.
