Good for tents, but pretty rubbish for motorhomes and caravans.
Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked We were recommended this campsite so we decided to give it a go. The tent camping looked really nice, with spaces on a grassy patch or amongst the trees. However, the motorhome and caravan pitches were not so nice.
Disliked I know this is woodland camping, but staring out at high density pine trees in a dark and dingy gravel pitch, surrounded by nettles and brambles is not my idea of fun.
The push button showers were too high so the limited jet of water splayed out too far. The walk around the plantation was ok, but nothing special. Expensive for what you got.

Good place to escape from the summer heat
Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Nice, spacious camping, not overcrowded, mainly woodland, small store is available on site. Great place to escape from the heat if you select a pitch in the woods. Nice to walk around.
Not far from the main road, there is a bigger shop 7-8 min away.
Dog friendly camping. Fridges, kitchen area with microwave, large tv available in the communal area. Parking is right outside the campsite. Very polite receptionist. They also have proper espresso machine in the store, I like that. There are plenty of fire pits available for bbq. Few water taps here and there with fresh water- this is good as well. Cars are not allowed inside the campsite- I like this too, no extra noise, safe for the kids.
Disliked One extra sink in the kitchen would be good to have. The worktop is long enough to accommodate a second sink, respectively to reduce waiting time to wash the dishes.
Fridges need a deep clean, all very dirty despite the sign that all food will be removed every Friday.
Communal area is a bit neglected, yes noone would expect to clean up after the visitors but the place in overall looks a bit dirty, benches need fresh coat of paint, yes woodland but spider nets are in every corner, communal area is ok but we have been in better maintained camps in Devon.

If you’re looking for a ‘normal’ Campsite with lots of people- amazing
Camping pod
Liked The range of facilities and location for exploring Devon.
Disliked The not so much ‘home of wild camping’. Campsite much bigger, with far more people than expected. Less secluded than what was portrayed on their website.

We can't wait to come back again soon
Camping pod
Liked We love it here. The current fire ban is totally understandable and it actually makes such a nice atmosphere around the communal fire pits where everyone is cooking.
The site is clean and quiet, with great facilities for a wild camping site, I.e: communal fridge and freezer, kitchen for cleaning, showers and toilets.
