In the nearby area, the colourful seaside town of Lyme Regis situated in the heart of the Jurassic Coast, is a renowned centre for fossil hunting. The city of Exeter offers great shopping and dining options, Cathedral gardens, and also the opportunity for lovely walks and bike rides alongside the canal.

Route directions

Turn off the A30 Honiton Bypass (dual carriageway) into the road signposted Sidmouth (A375). At the T-junction turn left. In 350 yards at the mini roundabout turn right onto the A375 (signposted Sidmouth). In about 2.5 miles turn right by Hare and Hounds Inn into the road signposted Ottery St Mary. In about 0.25 mile turn right into site entrance. Late arrivals are asked to use the late arrivals parking. Please only use these recommended directions for the final approach and not SatNav, due to alternative routes being unsuitable for towing. Please avoid approaching from Ottery St Mary (which has a 1 in 5 gradient uphill) and on the A373 from junction 28 of the M5.
