A place to unwind
Tree swing seat – a great place to watch the sunset

  • Camping pods at a small Devon site just off the South West Coast Path
  • Adults-only site half an hour's drive from Plymouth
  • Sea views and stunning sunsets; kitchen and lounge area provided
Walking the South West Coast Path? You’ll be made very welcome at Worswell Barton Farm, a small camping pod site on a Devon farm just off the coast path near Noss Mayo. Not walking the coast path (or perhaps only a little bit)? You’re just as welcome to stay here, to enjoy the fresh sea air and the splendid sunsets that often grace these skies – the pods have all been set up to face west and have outdoor seating, so you’ll be in prime position. This is an adults-only site, so you won’t be able to bring the kids, but dogs are permitted. You’ll be staying in cosy wooden pods, each of which has comfy beds and tea/coffee-making facilities, and with bed linen and towels provided to help keep your packing list nice and short. Shared facilities include a shower and toilets, and a micro-shop stocked with basic food supplies to help guests cook evening meals and prep packed lunches for their walks. To do all that, head to the farm’s function room, which has a kitchen with a fridge, hob, microwave, toaster and air fryer. There’s also dining space here, along with table tennis for those who’ve still got some energy, and a sofa, books and board games for those that don’t. A walk along the coast path is a must while you’re here, of course – but you might like to save some energy for the walk to one of three pubs within a half-hour walk. Other outings might take you to Plymouth or Bigbury-on-Sea, although you could also stay local to try out the local beach, Cellar beach, which only appears at low tide.

Liked Phil and Jane were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming and we had a nice chat. The pods were located in an area with beautiful views of the sunset. We ordered an additional vegetarian breakfast, which was the best one we've had this holiday. Would definitely recommend!

Camping pod

Liked Pods are clean and comfy. Not worth pitching a tent for the price. Nice hot shower. Fab views over the fields. In a secluded spot too. Kevin and Jane are really welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. Had a full English at 630am in their kitchen which is great when you need to get off.

Local attractions

This site is very well located for bimbling along the south Devon coastline, perhaps taking a walk to Cellar beach (20 minutes’ walk), heading out on a longer hike along the South West Coast Path, or seeking out other local beaches like the one at Mothecombe (15 minutes’ drive). Elsewhere along the coast, you can take boat trips from Newton Ferrers (10 minutes) to Noss Mayo or Wembury, or head over to Bigbury-on-Sea (40 minutes) to ride the sea tractor to Agatha Christie’s favourite haunt, Burgh Island. Plymouth (half an hour) is known as ‘Britain’s Ocean City’, and has attractions including the National Marine Aquarium and Mayflower Museum (plus tours of England’s oldest working gin distillery). The Georgian manor at Saltram (25 minutes) is another place that should be on your radar, and perhaps a visit to the South Devon Chilli Farm (35 minutes) for those of you with a taste for heat.
