General

  • Small peaceful site among the Paignton hills
  • Caravans for hire, all with space for picnic tables
  • Dogs welcome

It's safe to say a bon vista is pretty much guaranteed at this site, as it's set among the Paignton hills with smashing valley views...

Bona Vista Holiday Park has static caravans for hire laid out on a one-acre site, all most carefully sited by the owners to make the most of the surrounding scenery, and with lots of extra little touches by the thoughtful family team. (Tea and milk waiting for you on arrival? Yes please.)

The park is peaceful and car-free (car parking is at the front), leaving a good bit of space around each caravan for picnic tables and lazing about, and all pathways are lit after dark to keep everyone safe and secure. There's a kids' play area, laundry facilities and clothes airers around the site for guests' use; off site, Bona Vista is only a few miles from the beach and close to Paignton Zoo, Quaywest Waterpark and heaps of bon scenic hikes.

And yet more… the Bona Vista amenities have been described by one very happy customer as 'the poshest campsite toilets I have ever seen' and include separate showers and loos for ladies and gents.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Dogs must have their own bedding and on no account allowed on beds or settees. Dogs must not be left alone in a caravan.

The scenery was very nice and the site well laid out.

Unfortunately I need to have a moan. On entering the caravan it was very welcoming (although a little tired). Having allocating rooms for everyone the double room only had a very small duvet certainly (not big enough for the bed). Following this the shower was a trickle, luckily they have two shower rooms outside and thankfully it wasn't cold or raining. After the first night with no cover and really uncomfortable bed. We tried to sleep in the lounge area which was no better. The childrens play area on the website is not there anymore which is a misrepresentation. They have a swing ball game and a few other things. Lastly it can be quite noisy in the double room. It is near the road and on the Friday evening before we left there were gun shots really close to the site going on till about 11ish? Overall we had a good time as I know the area and it's beautiful however, we wanted to stay in a static for comfort, a nice shower and comfy beds instead of staying in our tourer. Very disappointed and over priced for our stay.

From the manager...

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay, and also sorry you did not speak to us about your issues as we would have tried to assist. ( we live on site so always available)

The beds, and bedding, are standard 4’6 doubles

And to reaasure others, the “gunshots” were actually bird scarers in the surrounding fields as the site is surrounded by farmland.

    Lovely quiet caravan site.
Upon arrival we was greeted by the lovely manager who showed us to our caravan. We had all the basic necessities in the caravan eg: sachets of coffee, tea and milk. Tea towel, oven gloves, washing up liquid and toilet cleaner.
Caravan was immaculate which included duvets, pillows, kettle, oven, microwave and heating throughout.

Site was quiet with a small area for the kids to play away from the main road.

Site has an extra toilet and shower cubicle with a launderette.

Paignton Town is a couple of miles to the right and Totnes town is a couple of miles to the left. There is a local bus service that runs to both towns and the bus stop is located near to the site.

There are a few supermarkets near to the site eg: Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's.

This was our second visit to Bona Vista and we had a lovely time.

If you don't mind the peace and quiet then this is the site for you!!!

An excellent place to stay. The caravan and the bed linen were spotless and the owners were really nice people. There was even a vase of tulips on the table in the caravan. A very quiet and well kept park. We would definitely recommend it.
