What customers say
This peaceful farm campsite offers beautiful Dartmoor views and direct footpath access. Visitors praised the friendly owners, clean and well-maintained facilities including hot showers, and the charm of free-roaming farm animals. While some cabins and pods were noted as basic, they provided a cosy experience. Minor drawbacks included occasional peacock noise, limited electricity in some accommodations, and the shower block's condition in one instance. Overall, a well-located and relaxed site.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked The peacock
Disliked Quite a rundown place. Only a few spots up on the hill where it is flat enough to pitch a tent. No welcome, no staff. My girls did not want to take a shower here.

From the manager: I am sorry you did not like your stay here. It is obvious for your review this was not the site for you. We advertise the site as exactly what it is, a working hill farm on Dartmoor, not a holiday park.
We live on site so I am surprised you say there is no staff as we are always bobbing about. As expected we can't be here 24/7 but there are 3 telephone numbers clearly sign posted for you to ring on arrival, if we are not here.
The showers have been newly refurbished this season and are cleaned everyday. Lots of other reviews mention the showers as being great!

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lack of road and vehicle noise in the background.
Views of the Moors
Wildlife, especially the swallows swooping across the grass in front of the tent.
Friendly Peacock
Disliked The only contact was by phone on arrival, to say pitch tent anywhere in the field. So no contact with staff.
No Bunkhouse Sign on the road at the entrance to the site.
Being woken at 4:30am by cows eating grass next to the tent on the first night.
